why blame video games? its the parents to blame when they dont lock up their guns and keep them safe or dont check up on their kids and notice the note books filled with the word "kill" repeated numerous times and scattered randomly.

this is one of the worst arguments that i have ever seen for free market video gaming, so to speak.
How are you going to reference prohibition? LOL that was 70 years ago and ****.
Listen, I do agree that kids under 17 shouldnt be able to buy violent/sexual games. If their (retarded) parents want to buy them for them, then so be it.
It is the same deal with alcohol, which has a potentially dangerous effect. If your parents feel you are responsible to drink in their house, then you can do it, but society as a whole has some responsibility to think about whether its a good idea if little kids get to run around drunk. Same thing with video games. if y ou know your child isnt going to be out columbining people, then yeah let them play halo. However, that doesnt mean that 13 year old so and so should be able to just walk in and pick up GTA... and ride around killing pedestrians and ****ing hookers. think about it mannnn

" Even though Congress is doing this for kids it is still a load of crap. Everytime our Government tries to help us they mess up our lives."
Another thing is Congress has never played a video game.
"The Government should first make this country safe from terrorism before they try to make "Safe" video game laws."
How old are you? YOUNG
You have obviously never served, because I am army (NG) and slated to go to Iraq in 07. Your first and third comments REALLY OFFEND me. You have no clue how the real world works, what our govenment REALLY does for you... Hell, even in Kosovo, living like you do here would make you a good. Do you know what it is like for kids elsewhere in the world? I think you "have to put it in perspective." kid. You dont know good you got it here in the USA. Video games are a privledge, not a right, especially for a non tax paying minor. I know the kids in Iraq got it even worse, but its gotta be so bad that you cant go buy your precious video games. I once seen a kid, had to be about 7 or 8, missing half his leg and one arm was really messed up. His brother, his only living relative said he lost it in a roadside bomb. I be its really hard for you. He still woke up every morning, had to find somewhere to steal his food, and played in the dirt, eat in the dirt, and went back to the alley at night to sleep on the dirt. Video game producers make a product, kind of like movie producers, that are aimed at specific audiences. I dont hear anyone complaining that they cant take their 14 year old brother to see

a movie, like wildthings or something else that is loaded with sex and nudity, but they will let them play God of War, where they control the sex. remember, games are not your right. Companys make them, people buy them. You cant buy a movie with the content it it that isnt apropriate for kids. So why buy a game where you control that violence. Kids arent supposed to be seeing that content, so it doenst bother me.
ill post more later, i have to get back to work.
