The DS to me is simply just a gimmick console and nothing else. Pointless having two screens anyway since most games use one for a map etc and the stulus is completely silly too. All of the games are either N64 ports, rehases with the same mascots Ninten have had for YEARS or just too overeliant on using the touchscreen. Nothing original about any of these and I disagree with the member below completely.
The PSP has so many titles to choose from now, the added benefit of getting excellent homebrew (not to mention the PSONE emulator), mp3/WMA playback with cool visulisations and you have that massive LCD screen to watch movies or play games on. Seriously PSP owners generally take there beasts for granted and Ninten fanboys need to wake up and smell the coffee.
Nintendo is being too weird with is gaming now and they need to stop. Also can they actually invent something new instead of reusing Mario, Metroid etc all the time?

I've never tried a DS. I bought my PSP on U.S. launch and I have been very satisfied with it. I have nothing against Nintendo or the DS, I just have no interest in Mario or Pokemon. I am sick of DS fanboys badmouthing the PSP on every posting board. Is it the same on the DS boards with PSP fanboys?

I have both. now I am thinking of selling my DS. I don't even use it!
I have been playing my PSP non-stop. Too many good games available and people still harping about no good games?!? Megaman, Guilty Gear, MGS, Tekken, POP, DJ max just to name a few.

With the price dropping, I feel it's days are numbered.

When Sony unveils the PSP2 at E3 next month (for the same $169 price point), I think consumers will be singing a different tune. Not to mention 80% of DS owners (much like the Wii) are under the age of 12. Seriously.

very good article sony although the reason sony 'forgot' about the psp was not because of their fight against piracy but more to do with their energies being spent on the ps3. sony admitted this as such.

for a while i was thinkin a clear no just cause of the range of ppl DS reaches but with final fantasy crisis core that will most likely bring in a massive amount of ppl and wit the price drops its anyones guess. Basically put tho psp is the better all around system and DS is better for childish fun and who doesnt like childish fun

I have both and i work at best buy in the gaming department and right now ever since the psp pric e drop it been selling like hot cakes way more then the ds last x mas the ds was the hottest handle game to buy because of the price but now expect the psp to be the hot seller

The psp will have it's ups and normals. What I mean by that is that the psp will do good at times, and then fall back to average. It never does really bad.
