| Unreal Tournament 3 I bought Unreal Tournament 3 on December 26th, 2007...the day after I received my Playstation 3 for Christmas. - Graphics are simply amazing. The textures on the skin in the videos in 1080i are stunning!
- Even though the packaging says that this game is only native 720p, the Playstation 3 can scale it up to 1080i like it did for me. My HDTV is one of the very first HDTVs (not even widescreen!) and those style TVs only support 1080i/480p/480i, so if it is normally 720p like MotorStorm, it will be scaled down to 480p. Some newer games support up-scaling like UT3.
- When you first start up the game, be sure to hit the settings first. In the settings, you can download parts of the game so it will run faster. I did this first thing, so I don't know if the speed is much faster, but when compared to MotorStorm and Uncharted, the loading times are more than cut in half.
- Single player mode is decent. I can't really follow the story that well, but oh well. The graphics are still great, the AI is pretty decent, and the game is overall fun. However, after a while, it starts to get repetitive. Luckily, I didn't buy this game for single player, but more so for online.
- Multiplayer is simply amazing! However, since I am running my network wirelessly, I encounter lag quite often and have been booted once or twice. The game is fast, gives you a crap load of options for online play, and has custom players and mod packs.
- Mod packs are amazing! You can download maps and mods from the internet. So far, I only know of 4 maps and 1 mod. I have only played on one of those maps and haven't used the mod yet, but the map I played was REALLY cool!
So, if I had to sum this all up...
If you enjoy super fast FPS online gaming...
