Nobody knew which one would win. And when the PS3 came out, judging by its poor software and sales, people thought HD-DVD would win. There was no winner thats why it was called a BATTLE. People just chose who they thought would win, there was no clear winner at the time and even now HD-DVD still has a slight chance.
