Re: How to RIP UMD PSP games?

i think dikky13 was asking "how to do you back-up the umd to an iso or a cso?"

it's easy...here's how to do it.

1. put the umd that you wish to make a back-up of, in the drive.
2. press "Select" and the "M33 VSH Menu" will pop up.
3. scroll down to "USB Device" and press "Left" on the the d pad the once. the setting should change from "Memory Stick" to "UMD Disc". if you press left again, you will now see the "Flash" folders. if you do not know what these are, do not select them. if you alter or delete any of the files or folders in the flash folders, you could brick your psp (especially in flash0). basically, do not select them.
4. exit the "M33 VSH Menu"
5. connect your psp to the ps via the usb cable, then scroll over to the "USB Connection" and select it.
6. on your pc, a screen should pop up. this is the umd drive. if one didn't, enter the "My Computer" and open up the "Removable Drive".
7. in this window, there will be an iso image of the game that's in the umd drive. just copy and paste the iso to your desktop or any folder.
8. when the copying has finished, rename the iso.

and that's it. you have just backed-up the umd.

if the iso image is too big or you wish to decrease the size of the iso, you could compress it down into the cso format. you can either use umdgen, iso compressor or Y.A.C.C. all of which are found in the "Utilities" sub section of the "Download" section of the forum (press the "Download" button at the top left of the page).
