i can't remember if v3.52m33 had a vsh menu or not. but what i do remember, is on one custom firmware, you had to press "Home" to access the vsh menu. try pressing the "Home" button to see what happens.
but you can still access the the umd drive. you just need to select it in the "Recovery menu". go into the "Recovery menu" then scroll down and select "Configuration". then scroll down to "XMB usb device " and press enter untill it reads "Currently: UMD Deic". now exit back to the xmb. the next time you connect your psp you your pc/laptop, you will see the disc image in the folder.
