Here is what I have done so far:

I downloaded the 4.01 M33 file and updated.
Result? Still no luck.

I downloaded a UMDumper, same result.

I converted all my games into CSO files, still.. nadda.

I reformatted my memory stick... nope. Nothing. (Which resulted in me losing my ISO and game4xx folder.. Is that a problem? Or can I simply create those folders again in the root memory stick?)

Could someone kindly guide me on just how to solve this puzzle.. do it for the kids. (my lil bros who're overly excited bout the psp, but if they so much as spill chicken vindaloo on it, I'll hang em to a pole and throw tomatoes at em)

What would Jesus do? (if he had knowledge on PSP... no offense to anyone. Okay I'm going a little off track here.. My bad)

SO! Someone, please do help. As you can see, all that forum reading has affected my brains.
Everything that you are trying to do will only work on a custom firmware enabled PSP, which you do not have.

If you just purchased the PSP Slim(from a store) and it had 4.01 firmware installed on it out of the box there is a 99.9% chance that it has the TA-88v3 motherboard in it and it is unhackable at this time.

The only sure way to find out is to use a known working pandora battery and magic memory stick on it and see if it responds.

As far as the folders go you can just recreate them but they will not do you any good until you get custom firmware installed and it looks like it may be a while before the devs come up with a way to do it.
