Re: PSX Games on PSP - Guide/FAQ/Tutorial

Lol. Okay. It was your thread I was thinking of. The one that nobody answered. Alright. I remember having this problem a while back, but I solved it so quickly I don't remember how I did it. Go through your memory stick and make sure your folder hierarchy is what it should be.
In the root you should see:

MEMSTICK.IND
MSTKPRO.IND
\MP_ROOT
\MUSIC
\PICTURE
\PSP
\VIDEO

'\' denotes a folder, the first two files may not be there.

you should then have:

\PSP\GAME
\PSP\GAME150
\PSP\COMMON
\PSP\SAVEDATA
\PSP\SYSTEM

You may not have savedata, and if you don't have GAME150, just create it. Your game EBOOTs should go in a folder named after the game, and that folder (with eboot.pbp and keys.bin) should go in the \PSP\GAME folder.

To solve this problem let's "divide and conquer"

First: Download the popstation and IsoBuster from this thread (I know these work).

Second: Get a (preferably newer) psx disc and extract an image to your hard-drive using IsoBuster (you want RAW) then take your .bin file and convert it to an eboot using Popstation. When the popstation asks you if you want it placed on a psp, say "yes".

If it still doesn't work, we know its not a routing problem.

Third: Toggling some things in recovery mode (i.e. the Kernal in configurations, the CPU speed, the corrupt icons option), and try again. If still it doesn't work...

Downgrade to 1.5 and re-upgrade using the links on this thread (I know they work), if that still doesn't work, post again and I'll try to get the games to freeze on my PSP so that we can see what is wrong with yours, at that point don't hope for much, though. Make SURE you have clean games and are coverting correctly and putting things in the proper folder.

Btw, anybody else who can answer him, should.
