PSS vs XBL

if any of you listen to the CAG cast you will already have heard.

in america someone did an experiment to see which downloads faster PSS or XBL, they downloaded DMC4 demo, the results were by the time the PS3 had downloaded and installed the demo, the 360 had only got to 1 percent.

i think this is bad service for something your paying for but which do you think is better??

PS Store for me for a few reasons.

1: No Monthly charge. This means more than saving $50 a year. It means that FREE demos are actually FREE! Go figure?
2: Its growing fast. It doesnt have all the features of XBL, but its still young and is getting upgraded all the time. Especially in the near future.
3: Im a ps3 fanboy.

I like the ps3 games, so the demos, videos, games, etc. being sold on it all appeal to me much more than for 360. I also dont like to pay for online, considering, I do play ALOT, but at times I neglect it for exams, work, etc. unless I constantly played, itd all feel like a waste...

Actually, demos are free to download on XBL too.

You only pay to go online to play against each other. Not to download demos.
And arcade games you can download trials or buy the full version.

Last time i checked, u couldnt download trials of PSN games .

My PS3 and 360 were both set up wirelessly...............I actually found the PS3 to download slower overall.

Also, I dont download two demos at a time.

You say by the time the PS3 demo had downloaded and installed, the 360 one was on 1%............
Downloading them at the same time, will not indicate how long it takes. The router is giving higher download speed to the PS3. If it was only 1%, it seems to me, that the 360 demo was unable to download while the PS3 demo was downloading.

The only way to see which is quicker, is download them individually and time it.

Same goes for computer apps - Grabit downloads stuff faster than flashget. Always, unless Im downloading on both at the same time. Flashget gets the bandwidth to download, and grabit wont download anything, maybe 3% max, until flashget has finished downloading.


I voted XBL, cuz it has more demos. Dont need to install them before you can play them. And the arcade games/PSN games, u get to try them before u buy them. I hated the fact u couldnt do so on the PS3

And yeah, u have to pay to go online against others, but, I've been online on the PS3, 360 and wii, and at one time, I would have said, and did, 360 live was waste of money, but, it so isn't. I enjoy online on the 360 sooo much more than I did on the PS3/wii.


The first statement is obviously PS3 fanboyism, as the facts aren't correct and the experiment you mentioned was inaccurate.

I admit, the Xbox live marketplace isn't perfect, but its not as bad as Teh PlayStation fanboys make it seem... brainwashed FTL!

I dislike paying for live, but hey I don't pay for games might as well pay for something. Also hate your downloads for 360 are tied to your system, while for the PS3 it is tied with your gamaertag.

But imo 360> PS3 for online services it is ridiculous you have to install a demo GTFO.

mainly because microsoft was too quick in starting the gen7 war... it gave sony time to see what they were competing against, and time to think of how to make playstation better than the 360. Those thoughts are currently being built and designed, with some already out, give it at least 1 more year, and you will see the ps3 come ahead of the competition.

Sony has won the past 2 generation wars, and i believe they will win the 3rd.
