| GamingCrazy Semi-Addict ![]() | Find all you need for DS homebrew Update: March 9, 2007. R4 Deal Update: Jan. 29. .Info about the Supercard/M3 lite, Supercard One, and M3 Simply. Update: Aug. 24. Info about M3 below. I haven't updated this thread in a while but a while ago, a site called dealextreme.com started selling an R4 slot 1 card for only $30 with free shipping. The R4 is made by the same people that make M3 and many people have reported success. Shipping is really slow however, taking 2-4 weeks to arrive since they are in Hong Kong and offer free shipping. Here is the link: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] This thread hasn't been updated in a while so I wanted to include a bit more about the updates. To simplify, the two best choices for ds homebrew are either supercard or M3. I have a supercard, whereas trunks has M3. The Supercard is cheaper, and plays homebrew (if you care for the meager ds homebrew offerings) slightly better. It runs gba games, but without perfect compatibillity. When I put pokemon ruby on, it worked, but I could not successfully connect to another persons game for trading and battling. The m3 advertises not only perfect gba compatibillity, but also emulators for nes, snes, and original gameboy. Again, I dont have the m3 so I cannot vouch for it. Since my original writing, both companies have come out with two newer models. Both have a special version for the ds lite. These lite models require micro sd cards, which are more expensive. The lite models fit perfectly into a ds lite but dont fit in either a gba or a phat ds. More recently and more importantly, both supercard and M3 have come out with a slot 1 only card. This card only allows for ds games, needs a micro sd card and in reviews on maxconsole.net, feels a bit flimsier and fragile than the slot 2 alternatives. It is smaller and more convenient however, and I would recommend it to anyone planning to just play ds games. Also, the slot 1 alternatives are considerablly cheaper. Also, the slot 1 cards have a major convenience (especially for mac users). ![]() With the M3 simply or Supercard one, The roms do not require conversion software to work!!!!!! From quick searching, the M3 seemed to be cheaper and more available so I would recommend the M3 simply to newcomer! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask or read through the first 5 pages of this thread. Bamboo gaming has the M3 simply for only $35 and prob about $15 shipping: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Slot 1 is the ds slot; slot 2 is the gba slot. Buy.com offers a 1gb micro sd card for under $15 using google checkout: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Lastly, trunks ordered his M3 perfect here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Includes both passcard and M3. After doing 3 hours of research, I have finally found the best and cheapest way to get homebrew/ DS/gba roms on your DS or DS lite. You need two things to start with: A supercard SD and a Superkey. The supercard SD allows you to save everything you want onto an SD card and let it be read on a DS. The Superkey allows the system to read homebrew and puts the neccesary software onto the ds, allowing you to play music, movies, pics, or DS/GBA roms on your DS. Included is everything you need to know to purchase and understand how NDS homebrew works. My final find: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Shipping is $15 US: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] To those who want other offers, the main page is: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Got info from: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], DS roms: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Constant price comparison: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Piece of crap jipper: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] 1gb SD card for $20 or $25, depending on rebate hassle: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] The supercard works fine, but the M3 is considered to play gba games slightly better. The M3 also is the more expensive model, but TrunksSSJ23 found a very reasonable deal for that. Please check pg 4 for his findings about the M3: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] I hope this clears everything up. I was extremely confused and had a very difficult time at the beginning finding what I was looking for. Please thank me for this or make it a sticky if you appreciate this.
