Japan unsure about Opera Web browser

Famitsu.com recently asked their readers on what there thoughts and opnions are about the Web browser for Nintendo DS/lite. This months issue of Famitsu had the results on what people think, and things didn't sound to good.

Those who participated in this survey, about 55.3 percent of them said they are intrested in the Web browser. 27.7 percent said they don't like the idea of a Web browser for the DS, while 7 percent were unsure about it.

You would think that this would cause alot of hype in Japan, since the DS has been the hotest (and top selling) portable out in Japan. Though the lack of Flash support, and no support for multimedia features, this really can't compare to some of the portable devices that do support Flash, and video/audio playback.

Opera Web browser for both DS lite and DS will be avalible later this month.

That sounds so cool i would love one for the ds. However wouldn't you have to buy something so that it can run it on the ds. and if the web browser did work do you think that they would allow it to run picto chat world wide.

No, but if you are in the hole homebrew, hacking, flashing DS stuff, there is a program of some sort that allows you to use picto chat with others using a WiFi connection.

55 percent is good statisictics for ANYTHING. Even though I prefer the psp browser im fine with the ds browser since it works perfectly with its sceen structure.

Yeah, though they did say a while ago that the DS Web browser will later evolve to have more functions, though they didn't name what kind of functions but most likely what its lacking right now.

The majority of people are interested in it. Isn't that a good thing?

If it comes here, I wouldn't get it...screens are too small to see anything.

50 percent out of 100 percent is bad, though around 20 percent did not give conclusive answer.

Re: Japan unsure about Opera Web browser

Well I dont think this thing will catch on. Or atleast Im not convinced it will yet.
I mena you have to pay for it and it doesn't seem particularly feature rich (as far as I can tell).
If the extra flash card that comes with it, allow you to download stuff, then I think it might be more successful.
I hope some one does a good video comparison on the psp and the ds browser.
And hopefully if the ds browser is any good sony will be forced to update its psp browser.

Re: Japan unsure about Opera Web browser

having a browser for the ds is going to make it more competeable with the psp
