News for the DS haters.

September 8, 2006 - According to the latest reports from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], the month of July wasn't a very competitive one in regards to Japanese "PSP vs. DS" software sales. Of the top 50 selling games in that region for the month, nine of them were PSP titles against 23 games for the DS.

An even more telling statistic? Six of the top 10 Japanese sellers were released for Nintendo's Dual-Screen handheld system (in fact, four of the top five), while the highest spot that a PSP game could manage was #16 (Tekken: Dark Resurrection).

Does this make the situation dire for Japanese PSP fans? No, not really. Of the nine games sold in the top 50, more than 410,000 units were moved between them. Those are strong sales for a typically-slow summer month. PSP software also outsold next-gen games in the Land of the Rising Sun, as unit-for-unit, PSP games outsold Xbox 360 by a ratio of more than 13 to 1.

Well if I am reading correctly that is just in japan? Also, psp games outsold 360 games? Big freakin deal....as far as i am concerned they all provide people with the tings they are looking for. And if you are that much of a fanboi or girl or just need to "prove" people wrong, then I really feel bad for you.

if the games good itll sell but graphics have to be atleast ok cuz you cant play it if you cant see it

Agree, those innovations that made you tapping, blowing, whistling, screaming, and rubbing the screen is one of the great joy of DS that cant be compared with PSP ...

What about his/her statement was fanboyish? They were very fair to DS and PSP. Sounds like your the fangirl round here!

he implied it. however, i like the psp way better than the ds. i don't find it unlikely that sales of the ds are higher. the psp is not targeted for younger kids..the ds is. and so many little kids love nintendo.

This is also a well given fact. The PSP is targeted for people who use multimedia products. Products that add a lot of media wise production, to say it simply. I mean it has Video, Photos, and Music. What more could you ask for?

Hmm mabye more screen size If only i had a 7 inch psp screen , then i would drool Of course the screen would have to be shrinkable to 4 inch lol.

But then again your rigth all the PSP needs is more cool multiplayer games like work time fun, and mabye a racer thats more fun like crash team racing

It needs online fun games, and it will be one hell of a better system, that can eaily crush any other handheld console.

lol ds is cruching the psp a lil more cuz of the media from homebrew
