Backup Problems

hey guys
i finelly got my DS LITE~! and im happy like hell
well i played some pokemon, but i got a backup problem now..
teh problem is that i tried to put 2 .dat saves on the same game, i changed their name to pokesave1.dat and pokesave2.dat but the ROMs name is PokePearl.nds..

now, i played some at the pokesave1.dat, saved the game after a while, but 2 mins after i wanted to load it back again it told me he cant find the dat file "PokePearl.dat" and he wont save it :[
i figure out that the DAT file must be with the same name as the ROM file..but if it's true, how in the world will ill be able to put 2 saves on the same game?
is there something i need to do so it will backup 2 saves (without copying the ROM file twice and rename each one according to the DAT file).

btw im using M3 lite microSD with Passcard3!

p.s.
after how long is it recommend to change battery to the m3 lite? of course without actully see the battery ran out and it cant save my previos saves (even if it wont save 1 BIG save in some game...itll not make me feel so well with myself heheh)

this is just my opinion, but unless the game has seperate save game slots, i dont think you can have 2 save games from the same game, and why would you want 2 anyways, the 1 is fine. and i would say about the charging, just leave it overnight and it will be done by morning

Hmm, first of all i want another save file for my brother's saves...i dun like other ppl to touch my saves...
and second of all, i was talking about the little battery in the m3 lite cartrige...isnt there a any program inside of the m3 that shows me what % is the battery? well nvm..

I REALLY wanna know how can i save 2 saves on the same rom..in the txt file it says u can just load another save file and thats it...! i have to find some way cuz i only god a 512 mb card and i cant put double amount of roms S:

the only way i know is to put the on ther twice. i did this with fifa 2007. icalled one fifa 2007 with the game save called the same, and one called fifa07 and that game save also called fifa 07. this way when i play i use 2007 and save on that game and my son uses 07. see if this will help.
