Question about action replay codes for pearl and diamond

I was looking at codejunkies.com and i was looking at the codes one code looked weird to me it was quick exp gain it says press r at end of battle do you press r again for it to stop or do you just switch the action replay ds off i dont have one yet but i plan to buy one i was just wondering how this code works
