| GamingCrazy Addict ![]() | Shonen Jump Superstars! ![]() although this game has been out for a year (and the fact that its in japanese) Jump Superstars to me is one of my all time best and bizzare (in a good way) games that i had EVER played. is it worth an import? hell yes i think so. think Smash Brothers, only with licencsed Jump characters to duke it out with. with a wide selection of characters and levels to choose from Jump is a true manga fans dream come true, and its only here on the Nintendo DS. Graphics: 9/10 the sprite animation in this game is nice and neat, each individual character that graces on screen has no stutter whatsoever. character and level design stays true to its original manga sources, and each individual character represented has their own special attacks unique to their series. from rasengen, kamehameha, spirit gun, and so on you wont see one character with the same attack. although its not in 3D the effects and animations that are in the game are dead on target, which represents the sometimes zany and surreal things that only anime can bring us. Sound: 8/10 sound in this game isnt what you'd expect. dont expect the 2nd season of the naruto main theme playing whenever the game goes to a naruto oriented level or such. instead expect original music, due to almost ALL the Jump properties having ALL their own songs and themes it would be almost impossible to get it on (capacity wise and legally). nonetheless the flair and rhythm that the game brings is what you'd expect out of any fighter. Controls: 10/10 so simply a child can play, the d-pad controls your character while A is for jump, B is for light attack, Y for strong attacks, and X for the unique special attacks that is special to that current character. Combo attacks can be linked by either holding down/double tapping left or right in one direction in conjunction with either B or Y. say your main characters running low on health, what to do? simple, click on the next character on the touch screen to swap out to the next fighter. speaking of which, before you enter a match you can customize your "koma" deck panel to what you would like. want your whole panel to be pure Dragonball? go ahead! Naruto team? sure thing, its all up to the users imagination. later on in the game you will unlock 3 individual panels that create insane tag team attacks, both being visually unique in their own ways (if you can figure the right combos of characters that is). all in all the controls are easy to pick up, the individual teams and how u link up combos is the one you need to master Gameplay: 10/10 Gameplay is robust and meaty. supporting a main adventure and wireless battles (supporting both single and mult cart), they made sure this game was absolutely worth your money AND then some. you start of the game with a weak deck, in order to get more "battle characters" (which you actually control) and "support characters" (which pop up and assist you in the heat of battle) you must go through the enduring J-adventure. now im not sure about what is going on with the story, but from what i can tell is that a mad scientist is wanting to rule all of the Jump worlds. but getting back to the actual game, you move about the overworld super mario bros. 3 style. once you select a battle point in which to fight you are given a set amount of goals (they're in japanese, so you better look for a translated guide), complete the set amount and earn your koma! but it isnt that simple, for it comes as a silouhette. in order to make the koma usable you must find the right tile that fits into the silouhette. i know this may sound tedious but trust me all that hard work will be fun! so that consists of the main adventure, but multiplayer is where things really start to heat up. single cart play involves you selecting premade komas specifically tailored for single cart play. if others friend has the game then you can duke it out with your own created decks. show your friends your skills and how strong your characters are by playing a multicart game! Conclusion: hands down this is a gem of a game that will never be released outside of japanese shores. to die hard manga and anime fans this is a must, but to the casual fighters this is more of a try first, buy later kinda deal. i really enjoyed it, worth the whole $50 i spent on it if i do say so myself. i had just complete it recently with a 100% so yay this is why im making a review. like i said, this is gem of a game you must try: 9/10 overall well, till Jump Ultimate Stars then! -for an in depth look on Shonen Jump Superstars, with pics and all that good stuff [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]! -and for more information about the new upcoming Jump Ultimate Stars [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]! I'll try my best to dig as much as i can. -Rai |

| GamingCrazy Guru ![]() | Re: Shonen Jump Superstars! I have one question: how does Yagami Lighto (Raito) handle in the game? Its so cool that he is in there, but since he never fights or does anything violent (besides killing billions of people by the end) what are his attacks? Or does Ryukuu do all the fighting? Excellent review ![]()
