R4 - Deleted Save Data

Problem is that for Rune Factory 2 I by accident deleted my save data within the game itself by pressing L + R during startup. I thought that it was a basic loadup as usually and didn't confirm a couple of times to warn you that you were actually deleting your save data.

Is it possible to actually recover my save data since I have gotten to the 2nd gen and wouldn't like to start over again. I have the .sav file unchanged since I had deleted my save data.

Is there someone here that could help me restore my save data? I have tried looking at the file with hex editor but was confused.

You might try and run UNDELETE in windows, it's part of the operating system and has to be run thru the command prompt(search for the proceedure). If the original files have not been overwrote and there has not been a format on the memory stick it might be possible to recover it. When files are erased the files atr still there till they get overwrote it's jusr the it's just they are removed from the index so they show that that space is now available and they are not showing up any more.

Thanks Gandalf for the reply but I think I didn't make myself clear that the .sav file has not been deleted. It is within the game itself, that I erased my save data. I was hoping, that only a few values in the .sav files itself were changed when save data was erased.

I think UNDELETE will only recover the .sav file if I have deleted that file but it still exists.
