The Holy Grail will choose seven wizards (masters) and give them seven familiar spirits (servants). Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin, and Berserker. The master contracts with one of seven familiar spirits that plays one of the above roles (classes). The master must prove that he is qualified to have the Holy Grail, meaning that he must eliminate other masters to show he is the strongest. This ritual is called "The Holy Grail War". The story takes place in Fuyuki City. It is a city surrounded by the sea and mountains. In this common city, a shadow encroaches. The main character had lost his parents in a fire when he was a child. He was adopted by a person who called himself a wizard. Disobeying his father-in-law, the main character has studied magic. However, because he lacked talent, he could obtain only one magic spell despite several years' training. One day, the main character is accidently involved in a fight between two opposing masters. As he is dying, a girl suddenly appears and saves him. "...Now, I ask you. Are you my master?" He contracts with one of the seven servants, Saber. In order to test her ninja abilites, she must steal the panties of all the high school girls. The first house she stops at is the abode of one Kaeda Shiranui, who happens to catch Shinobu in the act. Kaeda is the voice of reason and the two girls become quick friends, despite a round yellow ball-thing who claims to be a ninja master and tries to get in the way of their friendship. Shinobu is a ninja apprentice trying to pass a ninja exam. Kaede is just a normal schoolgirl studying for a school exam. Their paths cross when Shinobu tries to sneak into Kaede's room and steal her panties as part of the exam assigned to her by the lecherous yellow ball thing, Onsokumaru. Shinobu is a terrible ninja and Kaede can see her trying to steal and stops her. It was roughly based on one of it's dating simulation incarnations. The story basically revolves around Hiroyuki Fujita, a highschool boy who seems to make friends with girls pretty easily. He does have one male friend, Masashi, but all the rest are female. The stories are fairly episodic, and the tone of the series is quite laid back. Each episode focuses on rather ordinary things, such as seating placement in class, clean up duty, etc. There's nothing in the series which would have you on the edge of your seat. Everything on the whole looks pretty normal for these people. They do everyday things, but it leaves you feeling good. As her power got discovered, it meant people around her always felt uncomfortable. And so, she was always alone. Seeing how Asmaria was giving up because of her fate, Rosette reassures her and says, "If you give it all you've got, you'll be able to change anything for sure." Their battles were extremely fierce but, thanks to Asmaria's help, they manage to beat the treachery that stood before them. Thinking that they'll have peaceful days again now that Asmaria's case was solved, some important information comes in. The enemy who was sending out the demons is Joshua. Joshua was the name of Rosette's younger brother who she was seperated from at birth. In the orphanage where they were brought up, they were well known for how well they got along. Just like twin brother and sister. But, as Joshua has a power that makes him act as an agent for god, he was also feared by those around him. He longs to go against Rosette for the great power she possessed... And so, Joshua entrusts himself to the great demon Ion and disappears right before Rosette's eyes. Later, he appears once again to confront them at the monastery. In order to rescue Joshua, Rosette sets off on a journey together with Chrno and Asmaria. On their journey, as the Rosette party exterminate demons as pros to earn money, they meet Stella. Thinking that Chrno may have been the demon who murdered his parents, she approaches them. However, he finds out that Chrno hadn't done anything like that in the past and so, she goes along with them (against her own will?) so that she could gather information on the demon she's after. During that time, the assasins that Ion sent out found them. Being seperated from her friends, Rosette must fight alone. She bearly wins the battle but, in the end, she continues her journey without obtaining any clues linked to Ion...
