FAQ: How To Create Your Own Thread

Hi!

I receive pm's from new members asking this question so, here is my guide

on how to create your own thread on the forums!

Here goes:

1) Select the correct forum category that you want your thread to be in

and that it should be in - choose the most relevant category to match the

content of your thread eg. post a general PSP help question in the PSP Help Central forum.

2) Select "New Thread" from the upper left hand side of the page (as below):

This will open the message editing box:

3) Name your thread in the TITLE box.

4) Write your message in the MESSAGE box and when you are happy with the content of

your post click PREVIEW POST to preview how your thread will look or click SUBMIT THREAD

to go ahead and submit your thread without previewing and you're done!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally, I thought it might be useful for new members to have a quick run through of what the main features of the message editor are:

RED BLOCK - This is where you change certain text features. From left to right the individual buttons do the following: Make your text BOLD (B), Puts your text into italic form (I) and underlines the selected text (U).

YELLOW BLOCK - This is where you can change the size (number) and color of your font . When posting, please don't post in huge colored letter - use these features sparingly as they can make your post hard to read.

ORANGE BLOCK - This is where you add smilies to your post. Click on the smiley of your choice and it should be added to the post automatically.

PINK BLOCK - This is where you insert a link into your post (please be aware of forum rules regarding linking to other sites).

GREEN BLOCK - This is where you add images to your post. Click on the image button and enter the URL (where the image is hosted/stored online eg: imageshack) of the image in the text box that pops up.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ADDING VIDEO CLIPS TO YOUR POST USING THE GAMINGCRAZY MEDIA PLAYER:

To post a vid:

Click the blue M button on the message editor (circled in red below) and insert the URL of the file/video you wish to post in between the two MEDIA tags (example URL underlined in blue below):

The clip should be added to your post in the GamingCrazy media player automatically.

Make sure you get the URL link from the site that hosts the video clip though (not the embedded code).

EG:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

**Before you create a new thread please use the search feature at the top of the page and check if your question has been asked /answered already!

***Make your thread worthwhile too - give us as much info as possible whether you're asking for help or posting news .

If you're still stuck on how to create your own thread then pm a moderator or a super moderator and we'll try our best to help!

Thanks,

Stephy

Again, yeah, i've also received a few PMs on how to create new threads (and how to post messages *cough*hint*cough*)

But yeah, there is the issue of whether anyone sees it, cuz ya know some dont search, so yeah, linking, or adding it into the welcome PM, great idea

This is off topic but I would like to help. To take screenshots you simply press Ctrl and Prt Sc (print screen) at the same time then open up Paint and paste the image into the program by choosing edit then paste. Alternatively search on google for a screen shot application as there are some free ones but none are as simple as the method I described I find.
