[GUIDE] Karma System

We now have a karma system and a few people are unsure how to use it so, Im creating this guide to try and help those people out:



WHAT IS KARMA?

The Karma (or reputation) system is a feature on the forums that allows a member to award and be awarded points for good forum postings.



HOW DO I LEAVE KARMA?

To leave karma for a member/post you do the following:


If you are using the V3 Dark Skin:

Click the blue 'karma' button found to the left of the post you wish to leave karma for as shown (outlined in red) here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The following window will open up (outlined in red):

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

To leave karma simply choose to approve (positive karma) or disapprove (negative karma) the post and make your comment and click on 'add to reputation'.



If you are using the V3 Fluffy Skin:

Click the green button found to the left of the post as shown (outlined in red) here:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

The following window will open up (outlined in red):

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

To leave karma simply choose to approve (positive karma) or disapprove (negative karma) the post and make your comment and click on 'add to reputation'.



PLEASE REMEMBER - although you actually have a short period of time to delete comments/karma left by accident (go to your user cp and on the ''Latest Reputation Given'' panel, next to the karma you just gave, there is a delete option), the karma you leave can not be taken back after that time. Please use the karma system with consideration to other members. It should be a positive system - a way to show appreciation for good forum activity, it isnt a way to flame/insult other members.

HOW DO I VIEW KARMA I'VE LEFT AND THAT WAS LEFT FOR ME?

To view karma information go to your USER CP:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

and the karma information will be listed underneath any subscribed threads that you may have. This is an example:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Karma recieved is outlined in red.
Karma given is outlined in blue.
Total karma points is outlined in orange.
Total karma/reputation points 'power' (how many points you give for each karma you give) is outlined in green.

Once those things are put into action then I'll happily write a guide for that or update this one. The karma system hasnt been running that long so theres time to work those things out.

this site has a karma system?

sweet. this is like the only forum im on that uses it.
one i was on before did, but they stopped it

do you get anything for high karma?
site i was on that had it, before they removed it, gave out prizes to whoever got highest karma/rep that month. sweet idea.
