Famitsu Most Wanted Console Games in Japan:

1. Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Square Enix)
2. Dragon Quest IX (NDS, Square Enix)
3. Biohazard 5 (PS3, Capcom)
4. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3, Konami)
5. Persona 4 (PS2, Atlus)
6. Dragon Quest VI (NDS, Square Enix)
7. Dragon Quest V (NDS, Square Enix)
8. Super Robot Taisen Z (PS2, Banpresto)
9. Monster Hunter 3 (Wii, Capcom)
10. Animal Forest [Animal Crossing] (Wii, Nintendo)
11. Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3, Square Enix)
12. The Last Remnant (PS3, Square Enix)
13. Tales of Vesperia (X360, Bandai Namco)

Number 1 and 2 doesn't come as much as a big surpise but I never knew people cared all to much about Persona or even Animal Crossing Other then that these are all massively popular titles, and I can't wait for most of them either since guess what there almost all RPG'S! Yep i love rpgs

No surprise that Final Fantasy is on the top as well as Dragon Quest. But I find it weird that MGS4 is not at the top. You'd think it'd be the most hyped game in Japan due to it's release date nearing. I'm even more surprised that PS2 games are still popular .. IMO I expected pretty much all the console games on there to be from Next-Gen consoles.

One thing I don't get ... since for the NDS Dragon Quest's V and VI are coming out .. then why is there a Dragon Quest IX? Shouldn't it be like ... VII? Then VIII, and then finally IX?

Last thing .. I think if Monster Hunter 3 was for the PS3/XBOX360, it'd be a lot higher up on the list then it is now lol. Some positions of the games in Japan are fairly interesting ... Really easily shows what games have a big influence on Japanese gamers.

I for 1 was pissed off that they stopped development for Monster hunter 3 for PS3 and went with the Wii a really disappointing move. Anyway almost all the games on the list are the games i also can't wait for but put Biohazard 5 @ 1. Also i have never played Person before but it is suppose to rock.

Dragon Quest VII came out for PSone and VIII came out for PS2, 5 and 6 are remakes of the Super Famicom games. Though I don't understand why they put IX on the DS for.

I don't think there are any PSP games listed there, why is that? I thought the PSP was doing good in Japan.

its most awaited console games. mh3 is gonna bomb on wii, itll do waaaay better on ps3/360, especially if it had online, like the psp version but on steroid where your balls dont shrink.

I think mgs4 isnt first only because its so close to its release date. its hard to be most wanted when its coming out in 3 days. when somethings coming out in 4 months, yeah, its wanted a bit more. its funny how shooters and stuff dont fly as well in japan, like fps games, or even socom. thatd be up there for me..
