It's all about a majority vote really. View it like how Bush got into office; he got the biggest vote (apparently), but no body likes him, so your kinda stuck...

You didn't purchase a BR player, but BR is selling like hotcakes, so they are getting the vote for most popular HD media format. It's upto the companies to then decide, "do we still want to support this format in the hopes people will still be using it in 5 years time?"

Oh it's not that I have beef with blue-ray.. I just really don't feel a need for it my home. But only time will tell the true impact of it. I'm not even interested in HD DVD's.

Does that make me weird?

you aint the only one, i'm quite happy with my dvd's at the moment, especially with the fact that blu-rays are considerably more expensive than dvd's, though it's only a matter of time before their is a sucessor to dvd.

damn i hate new formats lol.

Well also isn't sony giving away like 5 - 8 movies with a new PS3 or blue - ray player? I mean of course those have to be added to "sales" numbers right?
