Icon5 I Need PSP Battery Help

Hey i have a 3.71 M33-4 Custom Firmware PSP and ever since i paid to have it modded the battery is F**ked up and takes sometimes two days and nights to charge where it used to take like not even a full 12 hours. So im wondering is this my battery or a common problem wit this Custom Firmware that other people have too. Please Help.
Thanks!

You didn't say whether it is a slim or phat. If it's a slim and you're charging thru the USB cord that's still a bit long but not unreasonable as the USB charges a lot slower than the AC adapter. If you're using the AC adapter then it is too long. As far as custom firmware causing problems I have not heard of any. I have my 3.90m33-3 phat with the original 1800mah(it is now a pandora battery) and the 2200mah(now my main battery) and neither one has a problem charging.

When you said modded was you talking about the battery also? Sometimes modded batteries have some problems, but it is not with custom firmware.

Edit: This is in the wrong section, would a mod mind moving this.

Re: I Need PSP Battery Help

Well its a fat and the reason i said firmware is because someone i know said that the firmware controls that and the extra things from the custom firmware could have deleted some f the software for the battery cause of lack of space. But your probably right, theres just a theory i had-i was on official firmware 3.51 when he modded it and is it possible that he didnt have a pandoras battery and had figured out how to make one o any official firmware cause if he did then its possible when he unnistaled pandora after flshing custom firmware the battery would not work properly again?

The only way to make a pandoras battery without a PSP with custom firmware is to "hardmod" the battery which involves opening up the battery and removing the leg off of an IC on the circuit board inside. If the battery case does not look like it has been opened then it could not have been "hardmodded". The hardmod method can cause problems with the battery if not done properly. There is not a lack of space as the custom firmware is relatively the same size as the official. The extra features do not take up extra space just the code is changed. If I remember correctly the power controls are in the hardware and the firmware really does not have that much to do with it. You might try re-installing the firmware which will consist of making your battery into a pandora battery and creating a memorystick with DCv5 and running it. After the re-install is done you can change the battery and memory stick back to normal. The pandora method on the battery will be a "softmod" done thru software since you have a PSP running cfw.

No problem. You've got hardware or AC adapter issues if it won't run on the power cord by itself. Don't throw the old battery away as it can be made into a pandoras battery by the softmod way. Even if don't hold a charge for that long it will work long enough to get a PSP started up into service mode then use the power cord to finish the unbricking/custom firmware installation.

yeh ill turn the other into pandoras and the new one should solve my problem.
One thing though i think if i boot on the psp with battery then take out the battery it might stay on with power the only problem is that wether the battery is in or not whenever i have the power plugged in its really unstable and shuts off all the time. It pisses me off!
Cause that means i cant use the PSP if its dead even at home!

I really think that you have a bad AC adapter or plug connector on the PSP. It should not be unstable on the power cord and shut off. Also that could explain the long charge times.
