Hi all,

Just registered today, as I've just bought myself a PSP Phat (Second hand).

Looking forward to speaking to some of you, as a complete n00b and unsure of the best way to tackle the simple things...

Seen some of the guides, which look really cool, so hopefully some of the cool stuffs you guys suggest etc will ring true.

im sorry, but i don't check my hotmail that often. otherwise i would have emailed you back.

i don't have a datel battery. i soft modded a battery when the pandora's battery first came out.

if you want me to install a custom firmware on to your psp, then there is no problem in that.

lol...no you haven't pissed me off. i don't mind you/people emailing me. just as long it's not spam...lol

I'm in the Keyham area, if your familiar.
Just I prefered to send locally, rather than some guy in the US who would've charged me $30 for keeping the PSP. lol

I think once the firmware is done, I should be ok with loading iso's, an IRC client, the Remote Desktop client (hopefully VNC Capable), and other things I want to do to it.
Only one thing I've got to look into then, which is if the PSP once pimped, if it can read AVI's, DIVX and Xvid formats, or if I'd need to convert, which should be then fun trying to find a converter for Linux.

yes, i do sort of know keyham. i've drank in the keyham a few times. and a few other bars around keyham when i used to work on the base...lol...for the next two weeks, im working over in stonehouse. so popping over to keyham will not be a problem.

to watch movies on a psp, they must be in a mp4 format. there are loads of free converters out there. but im not sure which ones will work on linux
