Where do you guys use your handhelds?

NPD ground took a survey and found out that 3,200 gamers use their DS, PSP and iPhone at home. Apparently 79 percent of people “use their portable device in-home, far more than any other location." I was just curious to see where you guys use yours.

I only use them at home too. I have used my PSP outside of the house, I tend to use it if Im waiting with someone else who has an appointment (I do that a lot it seems). When I had a Ds it was used only in the house, never took it outside lol. Interesting survey, Im surprised that so many people dont use their handhelds away from home, which is kinda the point isnt it lol.

i play my ds at school all the time, though the same could be said about playing it at home

well i only use my psp 4 msn wen im in bed...nd the only time play games on it, is on holiday (which aint very often)

about those statistics...I find them very odd.....

its hard to say what constitutes as uses. using it as a phone, texting, music, or just changing a setting, watching a video maybe? does that all count? and for psp, I used to play it at school but there would be HUUGE pauses in gameplay (final fantasy tactics:wofl), since my teacher would walk by. technically it was on in my lap, but I wasnt using it for a good 5 minutes until he'd walk and stand somewhere else. would that count?

it also depends what you mean by using your psp or iphone (or phone in general I suppose) because chances are, the majority of your life is spent in your home. mainly for the iphone lets say, youre sleeping for lets say 6-9 hours, well thats a quarter of your day right there. if you work, you can say you work a 9-5 so 8 hours with driving an hour thats 9 hours out of the home, and you most likely come home (you could have school I suppose but I dont think a lot of people under the age of 18 have an iphone) and spend a few hours there, if not the majority of the evening.

so considering most of your day is spent at home, how CANT you mainly use your handheld or phone there? most of the time you cant even answer your phone in class/work, so you dont really use it there as it is. and youre not supposed to use your handheld in class (I did, I played psp for 80% of school in grade 12, no joke. I cant play psp at all at work though, 0% of my work day) but you can probably get away with that (as opposed to talking on the phone). there is texting, but you most likely use your phone at home most often, especially considering after 6 or 8pm or whatever you have, its free.

they offer free calling at that time since statistically, its the least popular time to talk, but personally, Ill have the longest conversations after 6pm BECAUSE its free, me and my friends dont mind rambling on and dancing around the point when we arent charged for it.

so for my psp, I say its about equal, my usage of it, if not, a bit more usage outside the home. for my phone, I say its about equal as well, since its also my mp3 player, maybe a bit more usage outside the home also, but not that much. its almost a tie for both really.

Well I believe they meant playing games, but they also said this:
Around a third of PSP users were using their device to watch movies and/or listen to music. And music on the PSP was responsible for the longest hours of usage. DS users are almost exclusively using the DS on their own, or sharing one screen with friends.
And is the iPhone/iPod Touch the “[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]“, as Apple has claimed? “Among iPhone users specifically, the application with the greatest increase in use over the last three months was playing games.”

I have my PSP mounted in my car and I use it as my playlist and/or music videos for my car.. I'll try and post some pics later

oh okay, I hear ya. that insane though, even reviews on the run (a show that reviews games) will occasionally have a small bit reviewing an iphone game
