| GamingCrazy Addict ![]() | BLUERAY vs HD-DVD vs What U have now. OK...This has been bothering me. With the new DVD format coming out, I was wondering who is going to buy it? ...you'll have to consider price per disc and HDTV that has HEMI connections. ...so who is willing to change? or are you happy with 720p and 1080i? is it worth chaning? For me I'm happy with what I got(720p and 1080i), it's too expansive. |

| GamingCrazy Guru ![]() | Re: BLUERAY vs HD-DVD vs What U have now. For me personally, it isn't worth it. Right now I have a non-hd tv and a dvd player, and dvds look perfectly fine. I've seen HDTV-it's an improvement for gaming, but for movies...not so much. I suppose that will change with HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray though. Still, a good HDTV set will cost me at least $1000, a Blu-Ray player around $500(PS3) and about $30 for a Blu-Ray movie which I already own. I've heard some people who have seen Blu-Ray state that it isn't much of an improvement from dvd. Also remember that HD-DVD or Blu-Ray still won't be the standard for a while, if at all. Most people do not own HD sets and the ones who do will still have to fork over alot of money for an HD-DVD/Blu-Ray player. So, I'll probably stay with dvd for a while. Right now, I'm not totally convinced I absolutely need to buy an HDTV. And without an HDTV, a Blu Ray disc is worthless.
