dropped psp

I brought a psp, I was downgrading, it got knock off the side, it hit the floor but there is no visible damage, after it would only switch to green for 20 secs and the screen stays black, I was told it was bricked, so I tried to repair it with a pandora battery, using a guide to start with, but could not get the cmd prompt to accept the mspformat cmd
so looked for a installer, found one here from psp4noobs, used it and then tried to turn on my psp and I still got the same problem can anybody help.
thanks

Try this HERE

This does not use the mspformat and I have used a card reader with it. It installs 3.80m33-5 the upgrade to 4.01m33-2 is easy from there. Use that post for instructions and download the file attached to that post.

Thanks for the huge amount of help. However my psp only stays on for about 20 secs, and my PC doesn't recognize it, as being attached.
it did on my old computer even though it had been dropped. hence why I brought a pandora battery which when inserted in the psp, makes the psp stay on. any suggestions.

sorry for the late reply, tried yesterday, but my internet went down.

That's what a pandora battery is supposed to do. It will not operate the PSP normally. It is made to be used with the magic memory stick on boot up.

Use the regular battery or the AC power supply when trying to make the memory stick. The PSP has to be on, USB cable connected and in USB mode for the computer to recognize it and the creation program to run.

Once you get the magic memory stick made you disconnect all cables, power supply, and battery then put the mem stick in the PSP then insert the pandora battery and follow the instructions on the screen.
