Icon9 I'm a psp noob and I need help please!!!

Okay, first of all let me just say i've been cruising the 'net for some homebrew instructions. I've tried youtube videos, guides that have ridiculous requirements on my part, and every other forum I can think of, the thing is, I need help installing homebrew firmware, etc. because I want to play my playstation 1 games while i'm at work on my psp.

Okay, here are my stats for reference:
i have a fat psp with official firmware 3.80
My computer (laptop) is using windows vista
I have the battery it came with.
I have a 1.0GB Sandisk Pro Duo Magic gate memory card.

I have been absolutely obsessed with trying to find a concrete way to get my psp modded but i've had no luck so, please, help me!
Thank you!!!
I really don't want to have to fork out 150+ dollars for a premodded psp on ebay!!!

to be able to play homebrew games/apps or downloaded games on your psp, you will have to install a custom firmware first.

in order to do this, you will have to use a pandora's battery. you could either make one (have a look in the tutorial section for some guides) or buy one from the likes of ebay or amazon. and i think they go for around $50-60ish. don't quote me on that. as i live in the UK and out prices are a lot different to yours.

okay, believe i have created a pandoras battery, i opened my battery up and cut the pin on the far right bottom of the small black chip (this is assuming youre holding the battery with the rubber part on the front of the battery facing right..) When i put in in my psp though, it automatically turned on and the screen stayed black. I couldnt turn it off and i had to forcefully eject the battery.... now what?

The battery is right. You can use this Rains 4.01m33 DCv7 to make the memory stick. It will install 4.01m33-2.

The link that I give you in my last post will make the magic memory stick to use with the pandora battery you just made to install 4.01m33-2.

Re: I'm a psp noob and I need help please!!!

ok thats good now before i say anything some programs might not work on vista just xp-which is what i have-now i dont know but the link that [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] posted will work on vista but if u could take a pic of ur psp's battery so i could see which one u have then that would help so i could tell u if ur battery is pandorized or not but u say it is so i really dont need a pic-unless u want to post one- so all u would need is a magic memory stick, i would go onto youtube thats how o got a custom firmware so...yeah...anything else u need remember ask!

After your description of the battery's action it is a pandora a regular battery would not act that way. You do not need a pic. The program that I linked you to will work on Vista or XP and it does not matter what firmware that your PSP is running currently.
