| I'm sure there are a large number of questions in this area, that's actually how I found this forum... A user was using the wrong audio bit-rate. There are so many dials and knobs involved when Encoding Video it's essential that there be a canonical listing of valid as well as optimal settings and, in case of size at least, range of settings. I started out with this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], Thanks Alwin Garside! I have successfully placed this video onto my PSP taking not of correct placement specified [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], Thanks Peter Ville. The HowTo by Alwin creates AVC files so the correct placement is /MP_ROOT/100ANV01/MAQ00001.MP4 and not the older AAC files that would be placed in /MP_ROOT/100MNV01/M4V00001.MP4 Most/All users should be using AVC unless there encoding software limits them to AAC. Most/All PSP's will be able to play AVC if you have used and of the recent games and thus upgraded your firmware. You cal always download the most recent firmware from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and still run HomeBrew by simply using a Pandora Battery(about $20USD). Given the above I have used avidemux to encode two videos a number of times. The results are 1 for 2 thus far. The working video is a ?regular? NTSC 1.33:1/320 x 240, the other is a DVD 1.57:1/320 x 242. mplayer does some fancy prescaling to correct movie aspect 480x272 => 480x306. However the filters used are: app.video.addFilter("mpresize","w=408","h=272","al go=0"); app.video.addFilter("addblack","left=36","right=36 ","top=0","bottom=0"); I feel I did something wrong, the PSP information reports the video as 480x272, however still refuses to play it. Are there any tools I can use to dump the video's data so that I can show you it's settings? I attempted to use tcprobe(from the transcode project) however it Segfaulted. ![]() I attempted to remove/correct the aspect ratio, however I'm unsure of the options. OMG, RTFM. Looks like it's an Anamorphic video and I just need to do a few more steps. Last edited by Cheako; 07-08-2009 at 08:02 PM.. Reason: TRIPLE POST |
