Re: The Ultimate Noob FAQ

I am the most unluckiest girl on this earth
Total lie, but still..i hav 2 express my feelings
just 2 tell ya all, im a complete noob or even worse, yes, i admit, a retard.
so i created pandoras battery.im not even sure it is really one or what.
and then, i created half the magic memory stick.
half, because i pasted a pre-made memory stick...but the psp-grader i was using couldnt inject the ipl...and it was left half-way...
now, my neither my psp nor my pc detects the memory card

Re: The Ultimate Noob FAQ

To check the pandora battery: no battery in the PSP or AC adapter plugged in, no memory stick in PSP, insert the pandora battery. If the green power light comes by itself without touching the power switch and a black screen then the pandora battery is correct.

Memory stick: Place in PSP and format thru the PSP's format utility in SYSTEM SETTINGS. It should now be recognized by the PC when connected thru the USB cable. Using only the PSP Grader v008 make the magic memory stick and do not copy and paste any files. If that still does not inject the IPL you could have a fake memory stick cause they do not work. Also try the Rains UltraLite MMS Maker in 5.00 version, found in the Tutorial section.

Hey thanks...my oandoras battery is alright...the green light comes.
But i'd said in my previous post that NEITHER MY PSP NOR MY PC RECOGNIZES THE MEMORY STICK.
What i did was -

Created Pandora Battery
Downloaded a pre-made magic memory stick that i just had to paste in the memory stick. This was for CFW 4.01M33.
I was supposed to download a previous version of psp grader but that didnt work on my pc, so i downloaded v08. Now this one is for CFW 5.00. But, like an obvious idiot, i still used it......and it doesnt inject the IPL anyway...so im sure i have a fake memory card. but i made the magic memory stick half-way so thats maybe why my psp doesnt 'see' it. And if i connect the MS through the USB cable when it is in the psp...the pc doesnt detect it either.

So what if i use a memory card reader?
Will it work then?

That's all, i guess, for my story.
Thanks, anyway......

Re: The Ultimate Noob FAQ

a phat PSP 2000 is a contradiction, a phat is model PSP1000 a slim is PSP2000. Forget the premade copy and paste stuff if you want 4.01m33-2 then use the Rain's UltraLite MMS Maker for 4.01 this is found in the PSP Tutorial section. A card reader will work but what concerns me is that the PC does not recognize the PSP. The Rains app that I told you to use is for 4.01m33-2 and it will make the stick from start to finish on a card reader provided that the memory stick is not a fake. Fake mem sticks will not work for the pandora process as it has to do with the boot sector of the mem stick and that is where the IPL is injected, fake mem sticks modify the boot sector to report more available space than there really is.

is the biggest sized ms possible just 4gb or is there a bigger one?

Re: The Ultimate Noob FAQ

There is actually up to a 32gb ms, I have a 16gb which is more common along with the 8gb. Do not buy from ebay or the likes online they are fakes, if possible go to a retail store and catch them on sale, those are real and if not it is easier to get a settlement out of them than online.

MAC address hiding is like not releasing personal info. A lot of stuff relies on the MAC address for their function so it just stops any chance of being hacked.
