Persuade Me!

I already have a wii, a psp and an xbox 360. I would like to get a ps3 but don't know whether it is worth it or not, I like the look of many different games and features like the playstation network for example, but I would need some really good reasons to get one.
Can anyone persuade me?

Along with what tds said, the PS3 plays well with your PSP. For one, the pixeljunk series
can be played on your PSP threw Remote Play. Any PS1 games you have in your PS3s drive, can also be played on your PSP threw Remote Play.

Oh, and it's also a Blu-ray player.

Its the best purchase I've ever made. Especially around this time. The Wii has NOTHING coming. The Conduit for Feb. '09, but that doesn't look all that great. The 360 no longer has the edge in 3rd party games, the PS3 does.

The PS3 plays your Mp3's in a better format even when ripped from a CD and distributes the sound to your 5.1-7.1 channel system.

It plays many video formats, has plenty of extra features like the web browser, and more.

Add to that the blu ray player. Seriously. At my cousins house it took like 3-5 minutes to Load No Country For Old Men on his Sony Standalone Blu Ray player that costs JUST AS MUCH as a PS3. On the ps3, we rented it (didn't get to finish it at his house) and there was, to our surprise, NO LOAD. Its amazing. Colors, clarity, everything is just better on the PS3's blu ray player. Plus it has wifi..connecting your blu ray player via ethernet
cable to get movie updates and firmware updates SUCKS. Blu ray alone is a reason to buy this, it has Sony's brand of quality on it, and it shines. If you

But Blu Ray, believe it or not, is a secondary feature. The PS3 is first and foremost, a game console.

In terms of first party exclusives, yes, the PS3 is looking the best over the span of the next 2 years. Bar none. Alan Wake, if it still exists, will compliment only Halo Wars, Banjo, and Fable II. Awesome games, yes, but not enough. The WIi...lol. The PS3? Killzone 2, Resistance 2, New Bioshock, that 256 player online game, an online MMO, Final Fantasy, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, Afrika, Eight Days, new Ratchet, New Jak, God of War III, White Knights, Uncharted 2, Motorstorm 2, etc.


The PS3 has some downsides, but most are subjective. You may or may not like the analog set up on teh controlller. The lack of backwards compatability after the 160gb is also something to consider.

Its an awesome console, and I lol at anyone who doesn't have it by now. Its CLEARLY the superior in this console race. DOn't let sales fool you.

And remember, the best gaming is when you got the perfect home console trifecta, being the PSWii60 combo, all 3. Once We get Gears 2, Halo Blue, The New Zelda/Metroid/Mario, etc....it'll be hard to have just a few of all of those.

Lest not forget the ps3 doesnt have the 360's Red Ring Of Fire

the 360's 33% failure rate means 1 of 3 consoles will turn into a paper weight thattl piss you off..

however the ps3's failure rate is under 1% which means one in like 125-200 ps3's die...

your 360 has a 32.50% chance of red ringing before any of our ps3's do...

so if all the info before this post didnt persuade you, maybe this little info bit will...

sure about that? one of my roommates just got back his x360 from microsoft after they fixed the RROD issue. he turns it on for no more than 5 minutes to change the rez, and THAT one gets the the red rings...
