i meant that the memory is seperate from the console, so you don't lose your saves

yeah, the harddrive is separate from the console on the ps3 as well, I dont know in instance when it isnt...but memory ≠ harddrive btw. his saves arent going to be affected if the console was broken, which is the case..so...

@ hyperman: you held onto your harddrive right? or did you send it in with the ps3? if you kept it, your ps3 will come back without a harddrive (just the way you sent it) and you pop it in, it should be the same way that you left it before you took it out

if you left it in the ps3, they should still be there, I highly doubt they would replace it or tamper with it, imo, they probably just replaced the ps3 with a new one and left you the same harddrive.

really? I thought it only did that to organize the hdd to save files properly, and yours has already been formatted so I figure putting an old hdd in wont need to be formatted, it shouldnt...

hmm...Ill search for a way, its the same as a laptop hdd, but I figure if you put it in there, itd want to be formated

...it's as simple as backing up the data... hook it up to a computer.

@Darkatomz
i didn't think you could hook up the ps3 hdd to your computer and have it read properly(something about proprietary formatting and dead spots on the hdd so only a ps3 could read it)

Re: OMFC My Baby died to day

are you serious? well in that case, then idk. not that those excuses would make any sense to me anyways, plug in a sata cable and any computer should pick a device up.
