Icon9 WLAN light not coming on!!

i recently got a new D-link router and when i scan for it on my ps3 it "cannot detect the access point". my internet on my pc is workin perfectly tho, is there any way to fix this problem with the WLAN light so i can play online. is my router faulty. ps ive restored my ps3 default setting already. and my ps3 detected some random other routers from diff. houses wid a 1% signal.

Re: WLAN light not coming on!!

hmm...your computer is using wifi to connect to the router? if so, then thats odd that your ps3 cant detect it. if its connected with an ethernet cable, than maybe the router just isnt sending out a wifi signal for some faulty reason.

other than that, if your comp is connected to it with wifi, then there's no reason your ps3 shouldnt detect it. Im not pro at setting it up (I use an ethernet cable since its more reliable) but its pretty self explanatory on how to set it up. are you sure youre not just missing something when trying to connect?

Make sure that you have the wireless enabled in the router configuration. Routers have the option to enable or disable the wireless portion of it. From the sounds of it, it has been disabled.

Re: WLAN light not coming on!!

I was thinking the same thing. that, or its not a wifi enabled router, or the wifi is just somehow broken. Im pretty sure you just dont have wifi turned on, though

Re: WLAN light not coming on!!

In the router settings some routers have an extended range setting, look to see if yours has it and put on extended range. Also check the antenna(s) connection to be sure it is in good shape.
