| REPORT: Monster Hunter 5 Year Anniversary Concert This past Wednesday I had the opportunity to go to the Monster Hunter 5 year Anniversary Concert in Tokyo. It was an experience I will remember for some time. ![]() My fiancee, who is also a huge Monster Hunter fan entered a lottery for premium seating. She won and we got Super close seating which made the concert that much better. It was fun watching everyone, and I mean everyone, playing Monster Hunter 2nd G in the stairway, In the Concert hall cafe's and in the concert hall before the concert. I even brought My PSP with 2nd G locked and loaded. I also noticed that the majority of players were women. ![]() we got there an hour before the concert. The line to the souvanir area and concert hall reminded me of last years lines for TGS. It moved much faster and we were inside in no time. We picked up plush Airu figures that you could only get if you went to the concert, and a nice program book. Everyone who entered recieved a bag of swag that included a DVD with the The making of Monster Hunter 3 Music and Sound with an exclusive MH3 Trailer. ![]() The Concert was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and an Ethnic ensemble with vocals by the Diva Ikuko. there were also appearances by the Producers of Monster Hunter, Tsujimoto Ryozo and Kojima Shintaro, Director Fujioka Kaname, and Composer Komiyama Yuko. I've seen them in Magazines and videos, but seeing them in person and so close was really cool. ![]() Hearing all of the music from throughout the series was really nostalgic. There were lighting effects and video to accompany the music. At the end of the concert The orchestra preformed for the first time anywhere, music from Monster Hunter 3. It was amazing! While My fiancee and I weren't sure if we'd get MH3 We were much, much more inclined to after hearing it's music and watching the video that was played with the music. After playing Monster Hunter G for the first time back when I was an exchange student here in Japan all those years ago. It's amazing to see how much the game and it's fan base has grown. I'm looking forward to the next anniversary concert. photos from Capcom |

| Re: REPORT: Monster Hunter 5 Year Anniversary Concert thats so cool! reminds me of video games live. I think they might make a tour based on the turnout of that, but it would only be in really big cities I bet. |
