Two quick questions

Before the PS3 came out, I read that for every 4 hours you had it it turned on that it would put an extra $80 on the electricity bill. Is that true? And, if you had a usb cable, could you directly download content to the PS3's hard drive?

Re: Two quick questions

I dont think it is possible for a console to do that, the only things im aware of putting out that much power is some big power tools

complete BS. there's no way a console can use more power than your house uses in 2 months. i have all of the data, but it's in the manual, but i dont wanna copy it out...

as for the direct dl, im not 100% sure. i havent tried it myself.

Re: Two quick questions

4hours=$80
1hour=$20
I dont know but i know that for you to be using that much electricity, you'll pretty much be running like a small town of appliances. I think its about 20 cents an hour to run our split cycle air conditioner and that uses a fair bit of power so i dont think the ps3 will use that much power.

Re: Two quick questions

I have a couple more questions if you don't mind, I thought I would go ahead and post them in here instead of creating a new thread. I've heard about some problems with the PS3 (of course) like overheating and the inability to read disks. Does this happen to over 50% of the systems? Or is it about 1 in 10000 chance something will be wrong with the PS3?

Also, if they make it thinner, that'll basically be the only upgrade, nothing major, right?

Another thing, if I can't connect the PS3 to the internet will that be a big problem? Thanks again.

Is this true?
