Did sony/bestbuy screw me over?!

I bought a ps3 60gb in 2006 and a bestbuy 3 year warranty and ends at 09 of dec and my ps3 is f**ked up. Do they still make the ps3 60gb? they probably dont cuz all i see is 40 and 80gb, so wtf do i do now, will best buy give me a 80 or 40 ps3 or will they tell me "o well it only says 60gb and we dnt have that cuz sony stoped making them"...

best buy doesnt even CARRY the 80gb anymore, and 60gb's are pretty much impossible to find anymore in stores.

how is your ps3 messed??

40 gb......well they should replace it with the 40gb, the only way you can find out is if you go and find out for youself and dont give in to the cashier/ dude you talk to take it to the manager if you have to

well they still might have 80's left over. or you can take a chance and wait for the rumored next model that's supposed to come out.

even so, if you play alot of ps2 games, I imagine that might change because of the amazing ps3 games coming out!! (haze, mgs, socom, tekken, GT5, dmc, kz2, so many dude...) so I think if worse comes to worse, get a 40gb, you might get cash back or store credit but money since its worth less than you spent on the 60, and it might even be a white 40gb if it comes out soon ^^

if i were you, i'd actually wait it out... since trading it in will probably only get you the console, not the lost cash. take the risk and hope sony releases a higher end model.

I bought a 60gb ps3 just before xmas. Ok…I bought it when I was over in dubai. So if they’re still selling them there, then sony are still making them. And yes, I did buy it from a reputable store with the sony’s one year guarantee.

If I was you, I would take it back to the store that you bought it from and ask for a replacement as you have a 3 year warranty. And if they say they can only replace it with the 40gb version, refuse point blank. As it is a lesser model than you bought (well…you wouldn’t want an old banger of a car if you send your Bentley in for a trade now wouldn’t you). And they should either give you the same or a higher model. But have a good read of the small print of the warranty. There might be a “get out clause” that they might fall back on.
