Re: Are iso files better than cso files?

So on downloading, legally of course, games, how much space do they take up? For a full games like Star Wars: Force Unleashed? I wanna know how big that is so I can maybe download it. I want to get a new memory card, but I don't know how big of a one to get.

Sizes vary by game, the one you mentioned is around 700mb, but there others that are around 1.2gb. If you get a 2gb stick that will cover any game as a UMD can only hold 1.7gb-1.8gb.

Re: Are iso files better than cso files?

purchase a good 8gb stick, or even 16gb's (theyre out, arent they?) theyre reaaally cheap right now. when I bought my 8gb, it was just about $100 bucks and the price has only been dropping.

as for game sizes, iso's can be anywhere from 100mb to 1.7gb, depending on the size of the game (ie, crisis core is a huuuuge game, while Work Time Fun is a tiny game), and cso's (being compressed iso's) can range from 50mb to 1gb, but I never really see them over 1gb. they sometimes have parts cut out of them to save space but usually its parts people wont miss (maybe background music, minigames, if its a single player game they take out multiplayer (like gta), multiplayer they take out single player (like socom), that sort of thing)

ive heard rumors that there is. its a magicgate that takes two m2's in it, and apparently you can get m2's in 16gb, so you got 32gb's. if its not m2 its another small memory stick that I didnt know was in 16gb but apparently is

Re: Are iso files better than cso files?

You guys have me feeling bad with just my 2 GB stick. Are the read times any slower on the 16 GB? I had heard that, but that's the only reason I haven't bought one yet.

speed of a memory stick shouldnt really be a reason not to buy one.

lets say you want 16gb worth of content. so because of speed, are you going to be carrying around eight 2 gb memory sticks? no, thats ridiculous, you would want one 16gb memory stick. im just saying, if you want that space, go for it, speed shouldnt really be an issue

as for the speed though, I havent heard that its slower, but if it would be, it wouldnt be noticably slower. I think speeds are mainly slower based on brand/quality of memory stick, as opposed to size. even then I dont think its noticable/important, but my 8gb stick is virtually the same as my 4gb stick, if that helps
