can't format 1gig memory stick

I keep getting an error message when i try to format my one gig memory stick on the psp. I try a few times and then it says it has done it - but when i try to copy to it nothing comes up when i check it on the psp. It also says it has a size of 198mb not a gig. Any ideas ?

Re: can't format 1gig memory stick

try formatting it on your pc - use a card reader or plug your psp into the pc with a data cable and format it that way. If your card is corrupt you can try and fix it on the PC.

Ya do what he said. Format on a computer. Then after that, format on a PSP to create the neccessary files.

take it out and put it back in, that sometimes works even if it isn't a fancy technique

one time this happened to my 128mb stick by the people who make action replay. The thing locked itself and it burnt out. Hopefuly yours isn't bad. You might have to do the pc method.

format it using the pc. i had the loco roco demo which i played on devhook. then when i deleted it from my 1.5 fw, the file became corrupt and my 512 mb MS pro duo was now able to hold a MASSIVE 1.8 gigs lmao
