Help Please With Getting PSP online... ( Netgear dg834g router)

i have done the scan thing and inserted my 13 digit WEP password but it says "Obtaining IP address please wait...." and my connection name and the network and then it says " A connection error has occured the attempt to obtain the ip address was timed out"

Firmware version? full name of security used (wpa-tkp...wep.....

firmware 2.71 and the security is WEP not WPA-PSK ( TKIP ) or WPA-PSK (AES)

i didnt understand anything you said then....and i changed the WLAN Security setting from WEP on my router setting to WPA-PSK (TKIP) then i do not get the ip address failure message...i get the following message " Communication With The Server Failed. A DNS Server Error has Occured. (80410413)" Thanks.

if your wep key is correct all you need to do is type in you ip adress manually the reason it times out is either cos the signals low or because your routers running on 802.11g and the psp runs on 802.11b so jsut try typing in your ip adress manually not automatic.

i do NOT have a problem with the IP Address anymore it is a dns error with the following message " Communication with the server failed. A DNS error has occured ( 80410413 ) Thanks

* i was advised to set my security back to WEP and have done so and the original IP error occured

oh for this to work what you do is you turn off wifi power save function from your settings menu. and by the way a wep code is 11 digits long not 13

WLAN Power Save is OFF already and when i set the router up with AOL it asked for a 13 digit wep so ok ill change it to an 11 and see what happens
