Icon4 Will the new memories of 16 GB & 32 GB be compatible with PSP???

Will the new memories of 16 GB & 32 GB be compatible with PSP??? Cause that would be awesome. I searched in google, but I couldn't find out if the new memories of that capacity will be or not compatible with the PSP. Imagine having a 32 GB memory, that would be like having a maximum of 128 PSP rip games at the same time . Not to mention the amount of hours of video that you could put on 32 GB in psp's mp4 format.

Theoretically I think the limit for the PSP is 1tb or a little better. Whatever it is beyond the technology or most important the pocketbook now. When these actually start shipping you know that the fakes are going to be everywhere.

Actually the PSP can read that amount but the limit on the ms pro duo is 32gb. The maximum for the memory stick(the large original one not the duo) is 128gb.

^ I heard somewhere (i think on QJ by freeplay) that the limit iis 127.XX GB. Well obviously they gotta be compatible ... well I think. Perhaps the ms was designed for another type of device like a camera. But Sony would most likely make it compatible. Just be prepared for any slow loading speeds :/

Re: Will the new memories of 16 GB & 32 GB be compatible with PSP???

Not to sound too stupid but I never understood why would higher memory stick or card may not work on devices like the Wii or PSP. I remember when the 8Gig MSProDuo came out people were worried about it not working on the PSP so they updated the firmware so it would...well why would it not as long as it is a MSProDuo, if it weren't a ProDuo I can see the issue. Same with the Wii, it states the the 2Gig SDCars will work, well if you get something higher what's the issue with it that it won't work? I've always been confused by that because it's not like it's a different form of the card or anything like that, so shouldn't a device built to use that technology be able to use it?

I mean it's not like a DVD when the device hasn't a DVD drive.

Re: Will the new memories of 16 GB & 32 GB be compatible with PSP???

umm, I think its about the reader of the psp or wii having to read it, if its too big, it cant sift through it. by being pro duo, it makes it easier to read, and thus possible for it to be 8gb or 4gb, even as big as 32gb. I think thats what it is, and then making the 128gb a pro duo just might be impossible. thats my....assumption. its probably wrong, but I know that there's a key difference to the ms being pro duo...

Huh, well I guess that makes sense. If the system can't read it then chances are errors and such may happen when you go to send data back and forth. I can see where that would be a cost of expense I don't think people would want to spend if the systems break.

Re: Will the new memories of 16 GB & 32 GB be compatible with PSP???

I think its something about it just being too much memory to sift through. maybe they can make it work but maybe it would just cost so much to make it 128 in the first place, and to make it psp compatible, they may figure "who'd buy this?" and just stick to 16 and 32. I heard the 16gb would be compatible, I assume they can do a 32gb too, but 128gb just seems too far.

no problem. Im like 90% sure thats what it is, smaller the memory stick doesnt matter, thats why 32mb are just magicgates and not pro duo's, I think even like 256mb are not pro duo, its just needed on the bigger ones.
