Should I take this deal?

I found a PSP Phat on Craig's list. They actually aren't sure of the version they said its 2 years old so its got to be the old version. Anyways it comes with 2 games Tiger Woods and the Warriors, plus 7 movies. Family Guy season 1 and 2, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Not another teen movie, Reign of Fire, and Van Wilder. All this for $125. Seems like a pretty good deal.

Re: Should I take this deal?

Well just because it's 2 years old doesn't mean that it has an old FW (Firmware) on it, they could have updated it here and there within the time. Ask them to check it out by going to the Settings then go to the System Settings finally go to the System Information option, that will tell you both the Mac Address and the Firmware Version.

Granted that any firmware from 2 years ago can be downgraded it's always best to find out what your dealing with first. Make sure to ask about the condition of it, has it been used, has it been modded before in any way like changing the faceplates or being picked at to add stuff here and there.

Remember a used PSP currently goes for about $149 without all the UMD stuff. It's a good deal but make sure what your getting is worth the cash. I know you can and I people like me do tend to fix the PSP regardless of condition but it's good to get something that's been taken care of well so that you won't have to spend time fixing it.

Does this seller have any pictures of the unit or video to show what's it condition is? To me it seems odd to throw in all those extras like games and movies for such a small price but then again who know's it could be legit. Also check out the amount of time the item has been on sale by this user, if he wasn't able to sell it before then maybe something's wrong with it. I would also ask about the memorystick, power adapter and possible items like the music control or anything that came with the unit initially. Also make sure to ask where he got it from, if he bought it from a store brand new and is selling it then it should be fine. But what if he got it at a game shop used, not to say that's bad but it kinda makes an odd standing, if it was bought used and he's selling it online "what's the reason he's selling it?" More importantly why can't he bring it back for a refund? So take some of those things in mind before making a purchase.

Well I'm not saying this guy's case is not true, just saying do some research before you buy anything like that online.

Re: Should I take this deal?

I got the PSP everything is in good condition except I saw one dead pixel. I'm a happy camper, and it came with 2 games and 7 movies.

Re: Should I take this deal?

Well that's good and for the pixel issue, well that's normal as the PSP tends to get some dead ones here and there in time nothig can be done. I'm glad to hear your purchase went so well, you do realize I wasn't critizing you on buying it and was just saying that it was a case of "buyer beware" right?

Re: Should I take this deal?

Oh yeah, no offense was taken. I think we just misunderstood each other. It was never an online purchase, even though I found the item online. I got to actually go to the person's house and see all the items. The reason he was selling it was the guy I guess is really focused in college and just ended up forgetting about the PSP and stopped using it. Why they sold it so cheap, not sure, but he seemed to be pretty well off for his age.

Re: Should I take this deal?

Oh well that is a different case then, if you see it then you'll be a better judge of it. You know it was kinda funny how you got it so fast but now I can see why. As for the price, I dunno I guess when it comes down to it if your not 100% into the whole gaming scene *for whatever reason* you tend to not concern yourself with details like price but that's not too important as long as you feel good about what your doing. Well I for one am glad that you got something that works for you and that you'll enjoy for hopefully a long time.
