| PSP Crazy Wannabe ![]() | Re: Load UMD ISO with Swap Trick? First of all, Indy, your wrong, dead wrong. The M$ Xbox, the Nintendo GBA, and even the Sony PS2, can now all copy and load, CD Based games, from the drive, to a Memory form. For the PS2 and Xbox its their HD, for the GBA, its in the form of a Flash Card. All three of these systems are increadbly easy to pirate and play. Matter of fact, I have all of the Xbox and PS2 games, my local video area rents, on HD right now. Further more, alot of these systems have VERY VERY poor copy protection and I have only ran into 1 or 2 games, that I have to rip and hack before I can play it off HD. All of these systems have been selling very good, and are still selling very good. If the Sony PSP is even HALF the system, these 3 are, a little pirating or home brewing is NOT going to kill it at all. So stop using unfounded reasons for not supporting piracy. Just use the Basic, its wrong, its stealing, it shouldnt happen. But in the end, guess what, it is STILL going to happen, and its NOT going to kill any of the good compaines or developers. Its only going to lay waste to the ****ty developers and systems. Next, actully, some games, when ripped, are as small as 200MB in size, there is a LARGE community of PSP ISOs out already, so even if it takes awhile to load UMD from DUO, I am sure it will only be a year, maybe less, before we have a emulator for the PSP that runs those ISOs. So I mean, yeah, I see why you dont like piracy, but dont say stuff that has no foundation what so ever. You wanna know why the Sega Dreamcast died? Because it came out late in the game, and it lacked the power that the people needed. It had some great game titles, but for the most part, they were arcade ports. The Sega Dreamcast died, because of poor marketing, a high price tag, and late release and development. Not because it was easy to pirate. |

| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | Re: Load UMD ISO with Swap Trick? It seriously is a major problem. I don't understand that I pay $50 for each game, some nut uploads the game, and then you ****ty slackers get it for free. It's illegal, wrong, and is a slap in the face to everybody else. |

So cool, hip and trendy huh?! ![]() ...but seriously, it's doubtful that most games will work anyway, as I'm sure that they try and read files from the UMD drive regardless of where the software booted from. When it gets the call to load level one, it searches for the UMD, thinks its not there and promptly keels over! | |

| PSP Crazy Wannabe ![]() | Re: Load UMD ISO with Swap Trick? Right now the method dosent work, like I said, right now. Just because there isnt a method now dosent mean there wont be one later. I mean, hell, they even managaed a way to pirate Nintendo Gamecube Games. Second of all, I support alot of compaines and Developers. I have quite a few orginal game prints, along with a few backups. Its only a slape in the face to you, becuase your a sucker for paying for a game you could get for free to begin with. You know these idiots get caught? They have big mouths, and little brains. If you just rent games, copy em, and not sell or trade pirates, and you dont walk around yelling to the world that you use them, youll be fine. these people that get caught, sell thousands of pirates a week, they advertise online, with their family and friends and community and talk about it all the time. General Rule of piracy, dont be a moron. And for those of you, who have taken a stance on piracy, remebery, even using old roms like Nintendo and Snes are still considered pirates. EDIT: BTW kingkong5000, youd think the same of ANY of these system, but they are all easy to pirate, and there is ALWAYS a way. And even if it takes awhile to run them off the PSP, we will have emulation in a matter of time. You know how they got the Gamecube games to work? Even after the disks are so small, the Gamecube reads in a reverse order and it needs specially designed bar codes to boot anything up that is etchted into the CD? They use the Phantasy Star game for the Gamecube to act as a server, and with some clever tricks, not only can you upload your games to your PC HD, but stream the games, from your PC to your gamecube and play them. ![]() Last edited by shades; 06-19-2005 at 12:07 AM.. |
