Have been talking to a guy on IRC (hotboyz) who thinks he's pretty close to getting one of those released ISOS to run from the memory stick.

As I can't verify right now, i'll post the info he sent me and we'll see what the community decides.

I apologize for the caps

Without further ado:

LIVE IN YOUR WORLD, HACK IN OURS!

TOOLS USED:

1) PBP UNPACKER
2) PARADOX WIPEOUT PURE ISO
3) ELF2PBP (ONLY THE ICON IMAGE AND PARAM.SFO WAS USED)

PART 1:

FIRST OFF CREATE A EBOOT.PBP FILE USING ELF2PBP AND THEN EXTRACT ALL ITS CONTENT WITH PBP UNPACKER. YOU WILL WANT TO UNPACK EVERYTHING INTO ONE FOLDER. LOAD PBP UNPACKER, CLICK ON FILE > New. CHOSE YOUR PARAM.SFO (WHICH SHOULD BE IN THE SAME FOLDER AS EVERYTHING ELSE) *I USED THE ONE FROM THE EBOOT.PBP WHICH WAS CREATED FROM ELF2PBP* NEXT CHOSE YOUR ICON0.PNG *USED THE ONE FROM EBOOT.PBP AS MENTION ABOVE* NEXT CHOSE YOUR ICON1.PMF (THIS FILE WAS LOCATED ON THE WIPEOUT PURE UMD ISO IMAGE I HAD) LEAVE UNKNOWN.PNG EMPTY BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT GOES THERE. PIC1.PNG WAS CHOSEN FROM THE WIPEOUT UMD ISO ASLO THE SND0.AT3. THE DATA.PSP WAS FROM WIPEOUT PURE UMD BUT I OPEN UP THE FILE WITH NOTEPAD AND SAVE IT AS DATA.PSP *NOTEPAD MAY TAKE AWHILE TO LOAD THE FILE IF IT STICKS USE A RICHER TEXT EDITING SOFTWARE LIKE MICROSOFT WORD OR WINDOWS WORDPAD* AFTER YOU HAVE SELECTED ALL YOUR FILES, CLICK ON SAVE AND NAME IT EBOOT.PBP.

PART 2:
THE GAME FILES FROM WIPEOUT PURE SHOULD BE IN PSP_GAME FOLDER, RENAME THIS FOLDER TO THE DISC ID WHICH IN THIS CASE IS UCUS-98612 AND CREATE A NEXT FOLDER IN THAT WITH THE NAME PSP_GAME. THE PSP_GAME FOLDER IS WHERE ALL YOUR GAME CONTENTS FROM THE UMD SHOULD BE STORED SO TRANSER IT FROM UCUS-98612 TO PSP_GAME FOLDER, ALSO YOU WILL NOTICE THERE IS A DATA.BIN FILE IN PSP_GAME FOLDER, COPY THIS FILE AND PUT IT IN THE UCUS-98612 FOLDER. NOW TRANSER THE EBOOT FILE YOU JUST CREATED WITH THE UCUS-98612 AND THE DATA.BIN TO YOUR PSP AND PRESTO! THERE YOU GO THE ENTIRE FOLDER SYSTEM SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS ON THE PSP.

UCUS-98612 (within this folder):
EBOOT.PBP
DATA.BIN
PSP_GAME (within this folder):
DATA.BIN
USRDIR (within this folder):
SOME .WAD FILES AND A CFG FILE
USRDIR (within this folder):
SOME .PRX FILES

CONCLUSION:
MY MEMORY CARD WAS TO SMALL TO TEST TO SEE IF THE GAME WILL LOAD. MY PSP IS A US PSP AND PLEASE DON'T ASK WHAT FIRMWARE >.>
SO THIS FILE WILL HAVE TO BE TESTED ON A JPN V.1.00 PSP. CREDIT GOES OUT TO THE CREATOR OF PBP UNPACKER AND ELF2PBP. ANY QUESTIONS CAN BE ASK ON PSPHACKS.NET, AM ALWAYS ON THE FORUMS AND CHAT ROOM SO BE SURE TO DROP BY. IF ANYONE TEST THIS FILE AND IT WORKS BE SURE TO POST THAT ON PSPHACKS ALSO AND REMEMBER GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE. THE UCUS-98612 FOLDER IS THE EXACT WAY IT IS ON MY PSP, JUST EXTACT THAT FOLDER TO WHERE EVER YOU WANT AND DUMP THE FOLDER TO X:\PSP\GAME *X:\ IS YOUR HARD DRIVE LETTER* ON YOUR PSP GO TO GAME > MEMORY STICK, PRESS X AND PRESTO. IF THE GAME DON'T LOAD WHEN I TRIED ITS YOUR TURN BUT THAT IS ONE SUPER COOL DUMMY LOADER :0 D
Just posting my finds, if someone trys this, let us know.

Re: Load UMD ISO with Swap Trick?

Appereatnly some people tried this trick, and when they go to run the game, it starts to boot up, and then they get a corrupt data error message, so, with that, the PSP must be looking for something else before booting the game itself, cause I guess it runs like the Logos.

Itll only be a matter of time now. =)

Re: Load UMD ISO with Swap Trick?

this seems pretty interesting but you will probably need a big memory card to run the games.
