| GamingCrazy Rookie ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy if theres a game i want i'll dl the iso first to try it out or to just play it at all if i can't afford to buy it, i buy games when i can but i usually try it first and when the cash is low sonys outta luck. As far as piracy is concerned i feel like it's sonys fault for making the psp with the ability to be hacked at all, they were lax with it (emulators are a big reason i bought a psp) and now they want everybody to go by the honor system and just not pirate at all? too bad for sony, they get my money when i think a game deserves it but not all the time. |

| GamingCrazy Beginner ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy Well it's like this, I bought two games when I first got my psp. Wipeout Pure and Tiger Woods PGA tour. They were both so horrible, I havent bought a game since. I have pretty much every game out now thanks to this site or others, and I've gotta tell you there might be three to four of them that are actually worth paying for. I think the number one problem is they are overpriced, that and the fact that 98% of all the games are just ports. It needs some more original games, that have great playability. What kills me are people that are like "I'm just here to back up my games" mmmmm hmmmm ooooook..... Keep lying to yourself because simply put you are the only ones that believe that. |

| GamingCrazy Addict ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I think what is said orignally in the article about not paying for a game and having a whole library of files means that you don't enjoy the game as much. So for people out there who only have bought 2 games but own every PSP game but not willing to buy any because they aren't any good; why do you have them then? Obviously there must be some playablity to it that makes you want to play the game. But there is some lost in that as you don't own it, you are quicker to judge it. One thing about downloading an ISO and getting to a hard bit is that if its too hard, you just download another game. In my expirence of gaming, pirate gamers aren't as good as gamers who pay to play games, and this is why. They give up too easly.

| GamingCrazy Rookie ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy aside from the un-argued benifits of Isos (run faster as backups, dont have to cary disks), we have the economical benifits. this is where it gets messy, as some poeple think its ok to get games off the internet, and some think its not but borrowing a friends game IS ok. no definate line is drawn. i look at it this way. i wouldnt have droped $800 for photoshop, so its ok that i pirated it for personal use. heres another example, i dont buy music- mostly because i listen to indie and its too damn expensive to throw money at every band you want to hear. But, i will buy merchandise from a band i find to enjoy. so yes, self moderation is important, but thats not to say that ISOs (or, dare i say piracy) are bad |

| Guest | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I buy most of my games as I find that whatever price you buy them at, you can sell them on and get most of your money back when youre done, I figure that whatever you 'lose' is the price you paid for the many hours of entertainment you got from the game (unless its a rubbish game, in which case I figure its the price I pay for not reading reviews before I buy games). I admit that I have downloaded a couple of games, but once I tried them, I went out and bought the original (it's a guilt thing, I can't enjoy the game if I am overcome with guilt because I downloaded it - damn my concience!). However, I firmly believe that if the price of games wasnt quite so high then people wouldn't be quite as tempted to download them and that if Sony would just allow homebrew (not iso's) on the psp in the first place and stop being so damn stubborn, then piracy would be reduced as a consequence. End of sermon ![]() |

| GamingCrazy Beginner ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy Well I think you can download isos because I own seven UMDS and it's a pain to carry them everywhere I go. I download so I don't need to carry them everywhere. I don't want to carry my psp case everywhere. I stay at 1.5 firmware mostly for the homebrews. Devhook dfoes a great job emulating firmware! |
