| GamingCrazy Newbie | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I usually only download "back-ups" if its pretty small, and I just want to see how the game plays. If its a game Im really interested in, Id rather go out and buy it than wait 4-6 hours for an iso to fininsh.(I have dial-up) ![]() As to whether or not game piracy is wrong......well thats a slippery slope. Whether we want to believe it or not, we are the "TV Generation". It tells us what we want, and we listen. Todays society is driven by the "need" to have nice things. Thats all of society, even the ones (myself included) who cant really afford all those "nice things". When a chance to have those "nice things" like the download of isos arises, many people will leap at it. In this case PSP piracy does have a silver lining. It keeps people who might otherwise try to shoplift the game from being incarcerated, and their lives ruined. On the other hand, put yourself in the shoes of the people who made the game (not the greedy distributor, but the hard working studio that made the game), and worked very hard on it. When people pirate your game it has to make you feel like crap. You've poored all that work and creativity into something that was important to you, and now someone(the pirate) is telling you it's worthless. I guess the simple answer is that the world is messed up, and this horrible cycle(piracy vs. poverty) has gone on for years, and will continue for many more to come. ![]() |

| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I totally agree with you. I have never pirated a game. In fact... I dont even know how to pirate a game. I have a total of 2 games. Monster Hunter Freedom and Dragonball Z Shin Budokai. Both games which I like. My opinion is that the people who are pirating games are basically taking money away from sony and other gaming companies. |

| GamingCrazy Royal ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy OK, I'm getting sick of you other people ranting about "company losing money" or "go spend 40$ on a game or something." You people have too much money on your hands, if you aint gona pirate, THEN DONT so STOP DRAGGING OTHER PEOPLE INTO IT. People like you are a selfish son of a b!tch. The company isnt going to go bankrupt, and only 3-6% of all PSP users are pirates. Every week tens of thousands or maybe hundreds of thousands of PSP's are sold. Look at this site, it has what? 10k members? How small are these numbers, and it isnt going to help lower down percentage even if u close down the ISO access to other people. User above said "same fate as dreamcast." do you know wtf are you talking about? There are more pirates on the PS2 and Xbox than on the psp, it isnt going to make a difference. If you dont like pirates, then leave them be You dont need to rant and cuss at them for downloading copies of something, people like you make me sick, i can compare you guys to those selfish christian missionaries in africa who try to convert ther people by convincing them with food or water, except you guys dont give anything. You guys want everything ur way. And a lot of people have much more better uses for 40$, we aint rich/spoiled and look how much crap games PSP has currently, its not because of piracy but because the developers wanted crappy games for the purpose of making money only. I'd rather spent the 40$ on buying stuff like stuffed animals and characters for other people than use it on buying a SINGLE psp game. People who think high price ( 40-60$ ) is because of piracy, WAKE UP. (even tho im asian) open your EYES, even chinese people with slanted eyes can see better than u. Video games have always been at this piice since as far as NES or the Famicom. Just STFU and leave us alone you ignorant B@stards!!!!!!!!

| GamingCrazy Newbie ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy If one was to just use an ISO as a Demo, if they like the game they can then buy it, surely that would kill two birds with one stone. Buying a game is fantastic, the want to go home and try it, feels great, however, when your paying for a game, IE, Miami Vice, which in my eyes, had the playabillity of a freeware tetris. Thats my view. its not piracy, its more of a try before you buy |

| GamingCrazy Beginner ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy You have a good point, I'm not sure what the % of psp owners that use ISO are, but perhaps that whatever number it is may be contirbuting to the lack of a large amount of good games. So yeah I think ISO's are useful to try a game which you might buy, or if your completely broke, but when you do have the money, prehaps consider supporting the industry and prehaps we will be rewarded with better games. |
