Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy

Piracy exists and always will. In the games industry its an accepted fact and is figured into sales projections.

That said I find it strange that there may be PSP owners who just use ISO's - either they only play one game, have a whole bunch of duo's, or are never away from the PC. Being able to pop out a UMD and put in another game is a great thing about the console. I may be away from a computer for days sometimes, and so ISO's wouldn't be much use.

It is a pity Sony cut off ISO support as there could have been demo game ISO's released on official sites to allow people to try new games.

Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy

Some people try to collect every ISO going, I doubt they will play most, and if they had to buy the games, most likely wouldn't.

Rich/poor isn't a key? Well true because those without money might not buy the games, and those with money can always find other things to spend money on.

Availability of ISO's will always mean some people will use them instead of buying a game. Whilst Sony may come up with new ways to stop the use of ISO's, others will come up with ways around it.

The real questions are:
- if you use pirated ISO's, would you buy the game (i.e. use it as demo), or not (if you have the game as ISO, why bother).
- if you could no longer use ISO's, would you buy the games, or only a few/none.

I have friends who do the whole buy - trade-in route (buy a game play it then trade it in towards a new game), which I never was into, some of these now use ISO's instead others still buy some (import usually) and sell them after they've played on ebay often for more than they paid!

We've seen subscription based PC games now (and even PDA games), its only a matter of time before they are on PSP.

i find that untrue, bought the Dynasty Warriors for the PSP, and i instantly put it down after i liberated a few areas. Its not the matter of buying the games or not IMO, its the matter of how good the game is in people's opinions. If you are gona buy the disc just to get the manual and the cd itself u mite as well print out the manual, burn it onto a CD and get a CD sticker that u can print stuff on to stick on the cd.
now onto the questions
1. I buy it if its good, if not its just trash like every other psp game, I bought Tekken cuz its good and i wanted to see the cinematic movies and i was glad i did.
2. If i didnt have the options to pirate, i would buy a few/none. rather do that than waste a huge amount of money for crap games. I would either find a demo to download, read reviews, look at screenshots before i decide if its a good product or not. Such as Battleield 2, i played the demo. tortured myself with screenshots and videos, read reviews on ign out of boredom. I finaly decided to buy battlefield 2.

and i HATE WHEN PEOPLE CATEGORIZE PIRATES AND DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THEM, IT HURTS MY FEELINGS.
