Impressions on PSP Piracy

i dont think its too bad sometimes you might have no money and want to play a game really badly thats when you download isos but try not to abuse it too much maybe download a game once a month

The games I have on my Memory Stick are Me and My Katamari and Gradius. At 1.5, even if I buy the games, I can't play using the UMDs. And I stop playing the games after a couple days. The only ISO I played a lot was Lumines, and I bought the UMD because it's so great. But I feel no compunction about pirating EA games.

i know this is totally stupid but from a legal standpoint pretty much the whole entire direct download section is illegal. so saying that u support one of these sections and condoning the use of another doesn't make sense.

The law surrounding backups is, in my opinion, stupid. But alas, it's law and a very hairy one at that (I don't beleive anybody has been brought against copying for backup reasons at all yet).

You missed a point in context in that I support it as a backup medium, but not as anything else. I did make this clear in what I wrote.

I think Sony should offer PLAYABLE, DOWNLOADABLE demos for every single game released here on out. It would help cut down on people "pirating to test out the game" which is a reason a bunch of people have given as an excuse to their pirating. Now what reason will these pirates have when they can legally test the games using the downloadable demo. Let's see the next "lie" they tell us and themselves to reason away their piracy when demos are freely and readily available.

I have never and will never pirate games on ANY system including the PSP. I believe in PAYING the people that made the game a fair price for something that I will most likely get weeks, months and even years of enjoyment out of. If I don't like the game, I sell it off quick and make back most of my money and warn other people to be weary when buying it to try and save them money but I will NEVER steal a game! I laugh when people come here talking about how someone stole their PSP yet don't blink or think twice about stealing games and software! It's the same thing. Let me walk into your house and rob you blind and let's see how you feel about it. Or let your boss work you like a dog for 2 years then refuse to pay you. Let's see how you like it, bunch of crocks, the whole lot of you pirating biznatchs.

Hell yeh, playable demos for EVERY game would be sweet.

I think it would actually decrease teh amount of piracy. As i already said, i've only downloaded games previously to test them out to see if there good or not. But I'm sellin my 1.50 and just bought a 2.60 (figured i could make a profit if i sold the 1.50 rather than upgradin it)
Also, would be great if they made it so the downloads were always in Japanese first :mad:

But, IDK if that would stop piracy.. Cuz then pirates would think of new reasons to "backup" LOL

When I had a 1.5 PSP i only used it to emulate old games that I have on SNES, NES, SEGA, etc...

LOL it seems like gettign rid of isos, is going to be the eay part wolfie Tv shows and movies will be the hardest parts to get rid off
