| GamingCrazy Beginner ![]() | Impressions on PSP Piracy i know there is a thread about it already or at least a response section, but really i just want to underscore the importance of buying games, not just UMD's. how does the old saying go? everything in moderation is beneficial. Too much of anything is malicious. ANyway i just want to suggest to all you out there to examine yourselves, are you a blood thristy ISO hungry crazed maniac? i hope not, support the games you are "stealing"/pirating. i honestly have to say that the game selection nowadays from the psp section is lacking. Seriously lacking...with a capital S. i think thus far (im not into racing games) syphon filter looks great (i bought it, but i can't play it now because its 2.60 ark of napishtim is great and monster hunter freedom has an interesting feel. daxter i heard was awesome....but looking at ign i see there are like 5 games in the 9's perhaps 10~ish in 8's and a bunch in 7's...now from what i know...the more games in the 9's section justifies the position held by the system...right now PSP is lacking somethingnow im not condoning all of piracy..just as a community we need to focus on buying games also...so therefore instead of when a game coming out we all look for ISO's or start ripping ISO's we look for or start development of progs that allows us to play games on that higher firmware version. of course because we are still on 1.5 there are those necessary DL's of ISO's like if we sold daxter but now wish to play again but we dont really want to buy it again, we can pull up pspcrazy and find a ISo to dl...but ISO's shouldn't be the focus..having fun shoudl be and right now....PSP doesn't really look all that fun (with exceptions of course) so how do the rest of you feel? btw plz don't launch a flamethrower at me...but just thoughts and such -------- easy there tiger easy |

| GamingCrazy Fanatic ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I think ISO's aren't exactly the best thing that we could do for the PSP scene. I agree with buying games that way the developers of the games get the money and make more games. I wasn't into videogames when the PS2 launched but how was that launch in games compared to this one? It seems like if you go to Sony's site and look at the games that they have slated to go out you will notice that there are many good games that will come out. Personally I am buying alot of games soon becasue I'm getting a bunch of games for a 16 hour trip. I really think taht you shouldn't use the ISO's for main gameplay but that you should use them for trying a game and seeing if you want to buy a game. Maby play for about an hour or two then decid if you like the game. I'm not totally against the whole ISO thing but I do hate the fact that alot of people will find out how to cheat the system and not pay for the games. This is what pisses me off. The fact that people will cheat the system and not buy the games then the handheld will suck. So even for those ISO monkeys they need to buy games for the system or else the handheld game developers will realize that their games aren't getting play properly and they don't get the money so they won't "waste" their money on developing a game for the handheld therefore making the system inferior. I do see the good in the ISO's in how they are able to be used for trying games and seeing if you like them yet they are bad int hat if you don't spend your hard earned money on the games then you are stuck with game developers not making games then you have a horrible system.

| GamingCrazy Rookie ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I agree that there should be ISOs that would be able to run with updated PSP versions. It's not that we want all the games be hacked or something. I for one, would like to buy UMDs and would like to be able to play ISOs as well. I think that would be a fair deal for everyone. |

| GamingCrazy Fanatic ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy yeah what an idea. Sell ISO's. It's just like selling music to people on the ineternet. Somebody's gonna get it and send it around for free hence limewire/bearshare/WinMX(now legal dammit:mad: ). [sarcasm]yeah Sony's gonna be all about that[/sarcasm]

| GamingCrazy Fanatic ![]() | Re: Impressions on PSP Piracy I dont think PSPCrazy should have anything to do with ISO's. If theres such big deal about it - get rid of them completely without the excuses. People can make their own backups with the legal copies of the games theyve bought. If you're too poor to buy games, you need to live within your means. Or get a job if youre old enough. |
