| hey guys, I'm new to this site and I just bought a PSP two days ago, I've been looking everywhere on ways to customize my PSP. Could you please answer these Questions: - I want to put Custom firmware on my PSP, I've heard this is the way you go about putting things onto your PSP, (games, etc) How do I do this? - Do I need Memory Stick and Other PSP in order to do so? or can I do it with what I have? ( I have brand new PSP Firmware 3.80 and a GB mem card) - Can Someone point me in the right direction in order to do this? Tutorial/Guide for dummies? - Whats Homebrew? does it come with custom firmware? PLEASE HELP.... Thanks for your patients.. Shibby ![]() |

| Re: Newbie That Needs Direction Help! To enable custom firmware you'll need a Pandora's Battery (Which puts the psp into service mode, can be made(Guides on youtube),or bought from amazon.co.uk for £14.00, and a memory stick with the correct downgrader files on a.k.a a magic memory stick). personally when I first installed cfw on my psp, I followed a video tutorial, sear "wiimasterds" on youtube he does a great guide on installing 3.90 m33. Altenatively there are step by step worded guides found in the section help. Homebrew are apps users have made, I dont really use any so I couldnt comment. Cheers |

| Death Mod ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Newbie That Needs Direction Help! Jonfun has basiclly covered it, but il fill in a few gaps as i use my psp almost constantly for what you are wanting to use it for as jonfun said, since you have 3.80, you will need to research "Pandora's Battery", this will allow your psp to downgrade (lower your firmware) to of that can be updated your custom firmware for tutorials, i would agree that youtube is good, but be careful of some people's vids, they could be misleading (i found out the hard way ), so look around this forum, as there is a tutorial lurking about that will guide you though the processhomebrew is stuff that has been coded by people like me and you, and the best place to find all the latest homebrew is psp.qj.net. they have all the upto date homebrew releaces, this includes emulators (applications that emulate consoles such as the GBA, N64, Genesis, SNES, NES etc), applications such as calculators and just games in general and finally, no, since sony dosent support homebrew, it does come with the psp, you will have to look around on what there is and what personally interests you hope this helps ![]()
