Re: the best magic memory stick creator ever

Hi there, thanks for the reply Gandalf, i tried using Rain and following all the settings but i could not get any thing on the display after holding the L trigger down for 20+ seconds, i tried this on 2 memory cards to no avail

Any ideas, ive tried this on 2 slims also, one brand new today and one around 6 months old, both running 3.9* original firmware

Many thanks

James

If you are running Vista be sure that you right click on Rainmms.exe and select run as administrator.

Check the memory sticks with the PSP. Go to games, memorystick and press the triangle button. Select Information from the menu at the right, there will be 3 lines of text, the last one will say MagicGate. What does it say beside it??

Try both memory sticks. The "unknown" means that it is a fake (counterfeit) memory stick and can not be used for this process. Only genuine magic gate supported memory sticks will work. It needs to say "Supported" beside it.

Re: Guide for DCv7 using RainMMSv1.0

Hey Gandalf, well both my cards say unknown and im pretty sure one is genuine but hey, i ran the card again as administrator and now both psp slims are running 4.01 m33, hell even the pencil trick on the scored track for the pandoras battery worked, you are a true psp god and i owe you a few beers, thanks for this and for any other vista users that run into the same problem as me, read every word that gandalf will write because he will be right, it was because i didnt run Rain as administrator, so once again, right click on Rainmms.exe run as ADMINISTRATOR and follow gandalfs words of wisdom, no wonder you took that screen name

Thanks again from 2 psp's

James

You're welcome and I'm glad to see that you got it all sorted. I am suprised that it worked with the fake memory stick tho, I believe that is the first time I've ever heard of it.

That would work fine as long as you do not need the space.
