nvm, previously i used my mc slot on my laptop to do this process. Now, i used the psp usb mode and it didnt give me an error. Hopefully its working..

hhmm obviously I am doing something wrong if everyone has this working. I am on slim official fw 3.80. I downloaded 4.01 as instructed and placed in sandisk 1gb pro duo connected via usb normal battery and checked the format disk and create mms and it says failed to copy 401.pbp and says try again or paste across same error and cant paste across that errors aswell. When I put pandora battery in which I bought off ebay and hold L1 it boots up in normal mode which it never before but i never held L1 before but nothing has changed? MMS not created I assume as the update failed... consistent error everytime and I have tried switching the card to a 4gb magicgate pro duo card but still same error cant copy 401.pbp or eboot. Cos I am on 3.80 I have tried using that version as well but this time same error with 380.pbp??

What PC operating system are you using?? The IPL is being wrote correctly onto the memory stick that is why your PSP will start up on the pandora battery. The IPL is the hardest part of the whole process and it is working, confused as to why the rest don't work.

Try and use this HERE same thing but just a different installer app.

the links dont work for downloading the prog on that link and i am using win xp and vista 2 laptops diff os to see if vista was being its usual annoying self but no difference.
